we moaned for weeks last season for having not cover for golbourne and then went into meltdown when he got injured , despite Daniels arriving before the next game
But Who ever heard of a side having no midfield ?
This is Gross misconduct and would have been so funny had it been any other club
I feel let down having bought a season ticket
Feels like I’ve bought a tv that only has 2 channels

Correct me if I'm wrong but that leaves one natural central midfielder in the squad (Davis) is that correct? Don't know how many times you can see the recruitment was dreadful but lord above going in to the season with two natural CM's is such a bad decision I'm running out of words for it. Well Leshabela too, but SC prefers playing LBs there instead, and a Winger in front of them. Bennett could obviously slot in but then we have no RB😂

and what we all feared when we didn't adequately strengthen in Summer AND replace Ollie Norburn. i ompletely agree which just highlights what a mess SC has made of things

We can all have a laugh and a joke, but when you step back and look at a professional football club in the third tier of English football that has two senior central midfielders it's plainly unacceptable.
That after:
- Robbing last year's season ticket money. - Essentially robbing this years season ticket money on a false promise. - Selling our CM captain.
Absolutely unacceptable.

I know it isn't funny as it really is a shambolic situation but you do have to laugh that we've gone from having a ridiculous amount of central midfielders last season to relying on one man this season. Add in the fact that we've basically written off the one player brought in to add competition after Norburn's departure (SC's words) then it really is farcical.
I know the reasons for this summer will never be made public, just hope the club learn from them

I’d like to publicly praise South Stand Salopian for correctly bumping the existing Vela thread, rather than narcissistically starting a new one as many posters would have done.

Can't we put Vela on the subs bench against Ipswich, then bring him on to get booked in the 90th minute, which would mean him missing the home game with MK Dons via suspension, a match he won't be fit for anyway?

Even though we’ll probably still have subs left then we don’t need to bring him on, he would just warm up and take his shirt off and join in the celebrations when we score

Wingrove, Poole, Bickerton, Harris, Williams. Plus some recent questionable Managerial selections.
I guess RW hasn't always got it right.

And the re-signing of David Davis hasn't exactly been a masterstroke either.
A shadow of a player so far this season.

The arguments about poor recruitment and a lack of central midfielders have been done to death in this thread and many others. No one is disagreeing with this but certain posters seem to be revelling in our current plight and continually drawing comparisons with this time last year. How many times do we need to hear ‘I told you so’?
We are where we are, SC is going nowhere unless he resigns, so let’s move on, back whoever plays on Saturday and beyond, hope we get to January without being cut adrift and thank goodness we don’t support Wrexham!

All I've seen is constant criticism for the state of the team/squad? if you really want a list you can have them, but just check most match threads and spot the positivity and agreement just after the team has been announced (not from everyone ), maybe like the rochdale game which we lost 2-0 blueandamber.proboards.com/thread/102043/shrewsbury-rochdale-match-thread?page=3and then maybe check back to whatsisname after he announced a team maybe this game which we won 2-1 blueandamber.proboards.com/thread/98959/wycombe-team-game-match-thread?page=3fickle fans

I've looked at the last two match threads (Bolton & Wycombe) and I'm struggling to see much positivity after the teams were announced. There's not a huge amount of anger but its more general acceptance at the position we are in. I suspect you won't like to hear this (for some strange reason) but 99% of our fanbase share the same view as you, the squad is weak & imbalanced and Cotterill's recruitment in the summer was a disaster. I'm trying to figure out why that makes us fickle though

And there's me thinking that this thread was about Josh Vela 😉 it was an injury update , which led to questions having to be asked again as a knock on effect of the injury , which led to snipes , which led to replies , and then more snipes like the one you just made , rinse repeat
