found myself to scared to open the other thread in fear of spoiling some of the highlights I’m about to watch , will check the thread tonight 👍
I thought it would be an idea to have a thread where you could post something you found worth watching for whatever reason without saying why
Only watched a bit of swimming this morning but I enjoyed the men’s 400m freestyle

Good idea, I too didn’t open the other thread and won’t until I’m up to date, really enjoying the men’s taekwondo at the moment. Worth a watch.

Can't fault eurosports on demand coverage of every event.
BBCs output is dire. Not sure why we need excessive talking and all the budget being blown on 'experts' and vr studios, over coverage of the actual sports.

It’s strange how sports one isn’t interested in can be exciting when you actually get to watch them.
The company I worked for were main sponsors of the 2002 Commonwealth Games and I was detailed to host corporate guests at various events. I thought I’d got the short straw when one of hem was weightlifting, but the event was exciting and dramatic. It doesn’t come over like that on TV but live when you can see the effort and smell the tension it’s terrific.
Judo though was a total bore.

I've never liked judo since Brian jacks used to spoil superstars by winning every year

And quite the taekwondo this morning. Neither of which are sports I take any interest in whatsoever otherwise

Tae kwando, if that's how you spell it was pretty good this morning, can't say I really understood what was going on though.

Taekwando scoring is impossible to work out!
The weightlifting is brilliant at any level. The emotion, the risk of injury, they push each other to go heavier and the best start off at stupidly heavy weights from their first lift. It's fantastic to watch at any level. Fair play to those who put themselves through it!
Saying that, I haven't seen any of the Olympics yet as just moved house. Let me know if the weightlifting matches my review haha.

Not sure why we need excessive talking and all the budget being blown on 'experts' and vr studios, over coverage of the actual sports. Because they can only show 2 live sports at a time and chances are not much is happening in many of them at any given time. Sad to see Eurosport with the European TV rights. Naively, I used to think the Olympics were about sport as a means of bringing people and countries together, but it's just another big money show now.

just seen it, I cant think of any mode of transport available that would have let me even come close to them, balls of steel Pidcock is an amazing talent and world class in several cycling disciplines, I think he will turn out to be the greatest ever British cyclist. His only problem is that the disciplines he likes best are MTB and cyclo cross. He’s very good on the road but I’ve heard him describe it as boring. Thing is that MTB and CX are minority interests and road is where the big money is. He’s signed to Ineos and they’ll want him to be riding the Tour de France.

He's riding the Vuelta apparently - isn't that next month? They said on BBC that Chris Boardman thinks he's a future TdF winner. I thought the MTB had potential to be a popular sport for TV - lots of drama, shorter format than road racing and less predictable than motorised racing. I'd watch it (as well as road racing).

Just watched GB sevens highlights, was a good watch. Question for a rugby union follower - who are these lads in the sevens team? Do they play regular 15-a-side club rugby, is that just occasional or are they purely sevens specialists? I can't keep up with cricketers specialising in different formats, never mind rugby union.

I’m much in the same boat as you. I believe the majority are sevens specialists but a few play 15 a side. For example, Sonny Bill Williams played in 2016 olympics and Harry Glover (team GB player) has just signed for rugby union side Stade Francais. So far have found the games entertaining, quite action packed.

Just watching the women’s triathlon for the gold medal live - really good!!!
GB men’s rugby 7’s play their last pool match (1.30am) really good team! Some medals on offer in the pool for team GB during the night from 2.30am, as well as in the Taekwondo for Bianca Walkden who gets he campaign underway aiming for gold.
