Will the club have extra staff working to cope with the demand the free food or drink will inevitably cause, or will I be expected to join a queue all the down to Lidl car park to claim my free sausage roll?

What's the point? There's a price on loyalty, £270 apparently. Not valued so now can't be bothered engaging. Shame really.

Most of the above were covered by Brian in the last SP… www.shrewsburytown.com/ifollow/video-archive/Weve told him what we think, iv’e e mailed as have many others have, he doesn’t agree and thinks the club have provided value for money…worryingly if say northwestman isn’t happy I believe heed get his refund but to limit refunds this wouldn’t be advertised… If you not happy with HIS decision e mail him brian.caldwell@shrewsburytown.co.uk

Not for him to say? Minus the 6 games that season and the car parking costs over £13.50 a game… just shy of a price of an adult match ticket… Not advertising such things to limit refunds really does strike me as a bit unprofessional and leaves a bad taste in my mouth that the club are taking a lot goodwill from loyal supporters for granted, makes my blood boil.

Won't be seeing me at homes now, plenty of others I know haven't renewed season tickets due to the "refund" fiasco.

Be interesting to know what percentage of us owd folks didn't claim a refund for the good of the club. I can understand supporters with young families claiming, because finances can be tight when you've got kids. What I think Brian should remember, is if we revert to behind closed doors, the old ****ers might not be so generous next time.

'if say northwestman isn’t happy I believe he'd get his refund but to limit refunds this wouldn't be advertised'. Words fail me. Essentially what that translates to is: "**** the OAPs, hopefully none of them talk to each other, they won't find out and we can rob them" Brian would be the first one up in arms crying on an interview to the fans if Peterborough didn't pay us an installment of a transfer fee on time but he sleeps tight at night robbing pensioners? Nice bloke ...

I did email Brian about this and to be fair got a very quick reply to both that email and a follow up email The replies were quick and courteous Essentially the clubs case is that the last year has been horrendous for the club financially and they have no payments from large transfers as in previous season To give everyone a voucher would severely limit what SC could spend on transfers /wages this season Please don't shoot the messenger(I know many fans have had a horrendous year financially too) but I think that is a fair reflection of the clubs position I still don't think the optics/decision is great ,.In fact I think it is a mistake ,but I was grateful for a courteous and speedy response If like me you felt unhappy it is worth emailing him

Same level of income with good feelings as well. The line ‘to give everyone a voucher would severely limit what SC can spend on transferee wages’ makes you wonder how other clubs who gave a full refund or rolled it over to this season will manage? Burton…. I think if the club had offered everyone a voucher with the caveat ‘you can donate it back’ from the start would have resulted in the same or similar uptake…Especially when you take into account hacked off fans that don’t renew.

Laughable, just laughable but not surprising. I refuse to believe that giving out a few hundred vouchers to the pensioners will have a dramatic effect on the budget. The club are as tight as two coats of paint, we all know that. Can just imagine the pre match entertainment, who can stop Lenny from stealing their sweets 😉

Wages / player budgets are based on turnover, giving away a free drink doesn’t affect turnover only profit.

Essentially the clubs case is that the last year has been horrendous for the club financially and they have no payments from large transfers as in previous season To give everyone a voucher would severely limit what SC could spend on transfers /wages this season I don't understand why any Juan should be given a vulture at all. The buffet is now going to make a huge loss, that's not going to help finances is it? To set the bar at £270 is at best sneaky, and at worst shooting themselves in the foot. (I was going to type "stupid"). It reminds me of skool when you had to take in your dinner money on a Monday. The poorer kids were stigmatised by getting free skool meals. If I queued up. (which I won't), I'd be seen paying. Ha! The owd bugger hasn't got a vulture! The thing is, if the worst happens again and supporters are banned, I'd still leave my money unclaimed, but then again, I'm daft as s**t. Meanwhile, a bit further north, we sponsor a step at Cowdenbeath. When we went to pay this season, the club e-mailed us back and said because we hadn't been able to attend last year because of covid, this season there would be no charge. I didn't like to ask for a sausage roll.

Just my view ….but turnover is any income received which would only be affected if giving a free drink away stopped the person buying one which on reflection could have a small affect. You could argue giving away a drink takes the customer to the buffet and they could add a pie and a bag of sweets so could increase turnover.

We're talking about a 50p bottle of coke or a £1 bottle of Carlsberg from Bookers. Its hardly going to break the ****ing bank is it? Look at other clubs, full refunds, smaller gates, how are they doing it? Because they give a s**t and they're not as tight as a ducks ass.

1. What happened to the 'Turn it up to 11' and 'Standing Tall Amongst Giants' banners at the back of the South Stand? Will they ever be put back up?
2. Particularly during winter, there is a noticeable amount of litter in the vegetation on the approach to the stadium, both on the club's land and along the public footpath. Could something be organised to clear this periodically?

I am not a finance wizard and as I say I am certainly not an apologist for the club I just reported what Brian said I think they have made a mistake and the optics are poor. However the best way IMHO IS to get the decision changed is to write a polite and as firm as you like email as well as comment here

After not claiming a refund, doing my bit for the Club, if I'd been given a voucher I would have again not taken the offer, thereby helping the Club again and feeling good about it. Now I know that it is a one way relationship I feel as bad about my Club as I have at anytime in my life. The Club has been my life for 60 years to say I'm hurt is an understatement!
