I predict Croatia being difficult for you. The usual autopsy on a late grab draw. Or even better, a defeat Nostradumus strikes again, Ricketts getting sacked within months, us getting relegated most seasons, plus the annual 'Wrexham are getting promoted'. Keep 'em coming I hope you arent feeling too rough after your street party for celebrating a draw with a team ranked 4 places above you.

Calvin Phillips was MOTM by a mile, he ran the midfield and set up Sterling with a brilliant pass.

We're happy this morning. In Wrexham, we're dancing on the streets. It was a long day yesterday for people watching a 2 pm KO Thousands packing the town. Club taken over. Ambition etc And now still in it in the Euros No wonder we're happy. Wrexham FC are going to be your noisy neighbours sometime soon. And we've played the Swiss, ranked in the top 10....fought back and drew. Came from behind to earn a great point against a Swiss team ranked in the top 10. It's a bloody ba3t4rd of a ba3t4rd hard group as well. It's been another great weekend again. Lot's of celebrating. Merriment etc I predict Croatia being difficult for you. The usual autopsy on a late grab draw. Or even better, a defeat We (swiss) roll on to Wednesday Congratulations your draw, you really need to give it a rest now. No doubt you will be on to congratulate us on our win later - you will, wont you😕

Good England victory, Southgate using the squad he chose, and as the BBC pundits commented 'there's no way this will be the team in England's last game of the tournament'.
But it was boring.
Although if we win every game like that none of us will care. One down, just need to win six more.

Very pleased for Sterling who has been one of England's best players over the last few years. Phillips was a revelation today.

What a great game between Netherlands and Ukraine. Netherlands 2-0 up but got pegged back to 2-2 through two fantastic Ukraine goals in the space of 4 mins only for Netherlands to snatch the win in the last 5 mins.

To be honest that wasn't the team I would have picked, but I haven't got a clue how to be a football manager.
Phillips has hopefully made sure that Henderson should be putting his feet up for the next month, as he was phenomenal.
Mings had two mediocre games in the friendlies, but was outstanding yesterday and looked like a decent partnership was forming with Stones. No doubt he will get dropped like a stone as soon as Maguire is fit.
Stirling definitely wouldn't have made my starting XI, but has made tens of thousands of others like me look a bit silly with that performance.
Mount and Foden had decent games and while Foden could have made the perfect start if the goal was half an inch wider, they both faded in and out.
Pickford kept a clean sheet against a pretty lacklustre attacking threat.
Rice had a decent game sat in front of the back four and has easily booked his place against Scotland.
Trippier and Walker were both only okay.
Kane was bloody awful, but was still close to getting a second for us. I just hope that Southgate has the balls to drop him for Calvert-Lewin if he doesn't produce against Scotland.
All in all a decent result against good opposition and hopefully we can build on that, but there will be much tougher games and much better teams going forward, so Southgate needs to get some improvement out those who under-performed or bring in some replacements.
Neither of the full backs are good enough on that showing to go up against the likes of France, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Germany or Italy.

Very pleased for Sterling who has been one of England's best players over the last few years. I don't watch too much top flight football at all but those in the pub yesterday who do were really questioning why he was starting, apparently he isn't in the best form. So I was doing my best to explain that in the past he has shown what he can do at this level, shown what he can do in these competitions and that you need that experience. Couldn't smile wide enough when he got the goal.

Great start by England and then things petered out and it became one of those cagey international games that I think you get when you have two half decent teams going up against each other. Just felt that throughout the 90 though that we had the most energy of the two and we just slightly edged it. Just seemed to me that it kinda played out as we expected, that as a side we're slightly on the up whilst the Croat side may have seen its best days already.
Be interesting now to see how they get on in their next two games, Croatia. Whether they can improve upon that or not. As looking to that, you wouldn't think they were world cup finalists a short time back.

England played ok against a very mediocre Croatia. Billed as their toughest group game it was anything but, a lick of paint and mistimed stretch was the only thing that made that look less comfortable.
I said that Scotland, buoyed by the rivalry and 25 absence of tournament football Will be our toughest game and nothings changed my mind.
I fancy us to get enough points now to progress as either winner or 2nd….the passage then through to the QF is then when this team will be truly tested.

Didnt see anything different to suggest england will win euros.croatia a poor ageing team, we'll see how good they are when the big boys come calling.kane was awful btw, slower than a tortoise, put rashford or Calvert lewin in instead

Kane had zero service, though didn't do too much. He'll grow into the tournament if he can stay fit.
Grealish & Rashford will have big parts to play.

As looking to that, you wouldn't think they were world cup finalists a short time back. Croatia have lost two of their best attacking players (Mandzukic and Rakatic) to retirement since 2018 and Modric is now 35. He still has the ability to boss the game if you give him space but the Chelsea midfield (against Real Madrid) and Rice and Phillips for England harrassed him all game so he could not get too near the penalty area. I still think Croatia have enough decent players to make life difficult for Scotland and the Czechs but the tone for Saturday's game was set by England's energetic first twenty minutes where we had them really struggling.

Kinda know what you are getting from him.

First 15 minutes I was really impressed, lots of energy, movement, quick passing. After that it was back to 'classic England', lots of possession but generally between defence & midfield and not a huge amount of attacking options. I really don't like Tripper at left back as I think it reduces an attacking threat down the one side because as soon as he gets the ball his instinct is to cut back onto his right foot whereas a Shaw or Chilwell will bomb forward.
But it's a win in the first game of the tournament and in very hot conditions so I'm not complaining (even if it sounds like I am!). I expect a difficult game Friday as we know Scotland will be up for it

It seems wrong to describe the World Cup finalists of 3 years ago as ‘mediocre’, fading a little maybe, but still a formidable tournament team.

Danish player Christian Eriksen's condition is still stable and "good" since he suffered a cardiac arrest and collapsed during his side's Euro 2020 opening match against Finland.
"We are in touch with him. We were in touch with him yesterday and today. [His] condition is the same as yesterday, stable, good," Jakob Hoeyer, communications director at the Danish football association, told reporters on Monday.
Eriksen has also spoken for the first time since the incident. "Thank you, I won't give up. I feel better now – but I want to understand what's happened. I want to say thank you all for what you did for me," were Eriksen's words, reported by his agent Martin Schoots to Gazzetta dello Sport.

He won’t be playing again but in some respects it happened in the right environment with trained medical professionals a moment away. I hope he makes a full recovery and lives a healthy life. He’s lucky to have made an amazing living from the game so he can retire comfortably.

I think Walker and Trippier got the nod because England were playing a back four and Southgate thought the central defenders needed their extra tournament experience and their defensive quality. If Maguire comes back and they revert to a back three then surely the more natural wingbacks like James, Shaw and Chilwell will press strongly for inclusion. James and Shaw are arguably the two form picks but Southgate does seem to be very loyal to those in the squad who served him well in Russia2018.
