Well, we haven't sealed ours, so I'm no help! There are no petrochemicals getting on our patios as they're at the back of the house. I'm quite happy for nature and the weather to get at them. Nothing the odd bit of weeding and an occasional power hosing can't keep in check. I'm being influenced by the builders we've got in at the moment, telling us how much better good stone, old bricks and lime mortar are than modern stuff, which doesn't breathe and allow moisture to escape.

Not sure about patio sealers but would recommend a couple of patio cleaners. Wet and Forget is excellent, especially if the patio is Indian stone and prone to lichen. Also very good is No Grow, sold by HSD online, which does an excellent job of cleaning but also kills any weeds.

Ours is quite a light stone and apparently doesn't mix well if Red Wine is spilled on it. Going to let it weather for a bit before doing anything just to see how easily it can be stained.

We use patio magic on our block paving and patio areas (it was recommended to us).
Works well.
