Saturday so easy on train as well It’s cheap and easy to get on the train. Train station is about a 10-15 minute walk away from The Lamb Ground. Plenty of decent boozers (Old Stone Cross is a personal favourite) on route from the station aswell. As you come out of the train station, just make sure you don’t turn left as that’s going away from the town centre and towards the stadium, go straight over the roundabout or turn right if you’re eating/drinking. Not sure if it’ll be segregated or not but there’s a bar behind the ‘Shed End’ which is the side home terrace where you can purchase beer and they allow you to drink it on the terraces. It’s a quality day out!!

Are we just presuming away fans will be allowed or has that been confirmed ?

I remember being at Tamworth trainspotting in the early 60's. It's where 2 railway lines cross.
Amazingly, there was easy access to the London line, and individuals could get a little too close to the steam trains!

Do you own a cafe ? 😜 No, but I do recall frequenting a cafe in Tamworth which had a machine which took pennies. It had a clock face where the minute and hour hands spun round. If you hit 12 o' clock you won the jackpot!

The line from Birmingham New Street and the West Coast line to London I think.

Wouldn't it be brilliant if we can get a big away following for this! It would create a memorable day that's for sure!

If segregated which is likely 850 away fans... Difficult to gauge how many we'd take

If segregated which is likely 850 away fans... Difficult to gauge how many we'd take We took a good following there in the Conference, like we did at most of the games that season.

If segregated which is likely 850 away fans... Difficult to gauge how many we'd take Weve been starved of a match day for so long. If the restrictions are lifted I can see us selling that which would be great for all concerned.

If segregated which is likely 850 away fans... Difficult to gauge how many we'd take Only been to Tamworth once which was in the Conference season, we filled the away end that day which was probably 850 or so Salopians in there, away end only goes back 5 or 6 steps it was a tight squeeze! Under current circumstances I can’t see it being allowed but as optimistic as I want to be, who knows what we can and can’t do by July 17th…

Are we just presuming away fans will be allowed or has that been confirmed ? Just get practicing your best Staffordshire accent if not - Up the Lambs! The accent varies hugely in different parts of Staffordshire, I think the dialect in Tamworth is very much Brummie, so start listening to Ozzy Osborne interviews!

Anyone who bought tickets in advance had a refund yet? I've left a message with Tamworth FC but no joy yet.

Had a call back just now from Tamworth. Refunds were processed via their online ticketing provider last week and was expected to take 5 to 7 working days, so should get refunds this week.

So now, from an article in the Shropshire Star, we know why it was cancelled. Presumably young fellows like Ogbeta and Bloxhan hadn't had the jab.
“What we’ve probably done is upped training a little bit and trained a bit longer to supplement the miles they’d have put in the Tamworth game, but that can’t be helped, it’s paramount for player safety in these times.”
