My late Mum was what she called "real Welsh (Blaenau Ffestiniog) and nothing like that cosmopolitan lot in South Wales.... She was quite irritated by my picking up Latin, French and German quite easily, but not LlllllWelshlllllll🤣🤣🤣🤣 Wales does appear to be divided between north and south. My family are from South Wales and refer to the northerners as 'those bloody Gogs'. Crikey, A Tory from South Wales. Your family must be bursting with pride.

Whilst my family are from South Wales, I'm English born and bred so don't consider myself Welsh. As for my family, well both my parents and sister (as well as I) used to be regular Labour voters. Gradually over the last 10-15 years we have seen the Party for it has now become and broken the tribal shackles which were used to keep our votes. And that is something that has happened to other family's up and down the country, which is why The Red Wall crumbled in 2019 the way it did.

The truth is my family is from a town in South Wales that, in socio economic terms, is probably as far away as you could get from Chepstow. But don't let that stop you guys engaging in some reverse snobbery. The politics of envy isn't working anymore.

Staunch Labour voters feeling Labour is not now for them is a very sad state of affairs and needs to be addressed. But surely voting Tory isn't the answer?

The Railway Inn, Borth.........me and the Bro in Law spent many a happy hour with the good Reverend. I know it well 😊 They do good food as well 😊 I wonder if I'm the only Juan on here who managed to get a "lock in" at The Railway before the pub hours changed. Because we were fairly regular visitors to Borth, the locals were familiar with our visits and we were invited to stay in our seats when closing time came. When we eventually left, we had to wait for the coast to be checked for "The Old Bill". Looking both ways down the street, it reminded me of a deserted western town in the wild west. A howling wind, I half expected to see tumbleweed blown down the road. In fact, I've enjoyed a lock in at TWO pubs in Borth.
