You Welshies make me sick. Not happy with Owain ap Gruffydd, (Owain Glyndwr), coming into England and rampaging around Clun castle, you then offer us happy sunny holidays in Borth. The weather was that bad Juan year, a relative of mine wore his Auntie nuclear trousers. You also have the privilege of having the worst hotel I've ever stayed in, and that's saying something, I once stayed in a B&B in Craven Arms. Then you conspire with the French to make sure us English didn't have a welcome in the hillside when we played you at rugby.

Used to live in Wales, today would have been a day for pointing out to me what the score was in Saturday with that touch of extra pride with it being St David's day. Of course if Englabd beat Wales at Rugby I was able to walk around with a smug look on my face.

My late Mum was what she called "real Welsh (Blaenau Ffestiniog) and nothing like that cosmopolitan lot in South Wales.... She was quite irritated by my picking up Latin, French and German quite easily, but not LlllllWelshlllllll🤣🤣🤣🤣

P'nawn da.
My mother was Welsh, I lived in Wales for 20 years, but I can barely string together a sentence of Welsh.
Thank goodness I'm not now living there and their pubs are shut. Watching the Wales v England Rugby game in a Welsh pub with Wales winning is not the best of experiences. The fact it was for the Triple Crown would have made it even worse.

Have you noticed that when the Welsh beat us at rugby, suddenly everyone's a huge rugby fan? Lose to England and it's never mentioned.

Nonetheless, there does appear to be a greater nationalist, or anti-Englishsentiment, in North and Mid-Wales than in the south.... many years ago, on holiday in Anglesey, my mum and I popped into a cafe, chatting away normally (in English) and a group of presumably local ladies exchanged comments in Welsh - to this day, I have no idea what was said, but my Mum knew, of course, and tore into them loudly in Welsh, and we walked out without buying anything.....

Exactly the same happened to me, when I was in the company of my mum, who spoke fluent Welsh. I believe there was a pub landlord in Portmadoc who refused to serve customers unless they spoke to him in Welsh.

No "antiEnglishsentiment" in Powys.
From a language point of view we used to hear more Welsh when we came up shopping in Shrewsbury than in Powys.

An udder thing about the barbarian Phyllis Dean welsh Prince Owain Glyndyr, can you imagine the Present Prince of Wales laying siege to Clun Castle? He'd only have to stand outside and give Juan of his speeches through a megaphone, the buggers would be glad to come out.

Talking about Brains, haven't they been recently taken over by Marston's or some other English brewing group? Yes, pandemic left them a bit short of cash. Marstons will take over the hundred odd pubs and the brewery, hopefully the Cardiff brewery will stay open.

I feel your pain! Back in my days as a regular beer-drinker, my memories of Brains are that it certainly didn't suit my palate; I am not saying it was disgustingly undrinkable, only that it wasn't to my taste!
