If circustances different this would be an away day I'd really be looking forward to. Town in good form, signs of spring on the way and an old style ground to visit would have persuaded me to travel, add in a few beers on the riverside in Bristol or some chips on the beach at Weston Super Mare and it would have been a good trip away.
Town would probably have lost 3.0 and ruin the day but I'm even missing the long grumpy journey home from an away defeat

I suspect that the pitch may be in something of a state, as it usually seems to be when we’re down there. I also suspect that the game will be a bit of a slog similar to the Accrington game last week, and we may be relying on something from Chapman or Whalley to turn a potential one point into three.

My youngest did her degree in Bristol, love the place and always took a local game when visiting, either City or Rovers. I can remember the 2018 game, a great Rodman run and Nsiala winner in the 88 minute!! Happy Days, would love some of the same, but a point would suffice COYB's I have the same opinion of Bristol, having studied for my Law Degree there in the early 1970s. So my recollection of Bristol Rovers is strolling down Muller Road to Eastville to watch 'Smash and Grab' (Warboys and Bannister). twohundredpercent.net/smash-grab-bristol-rovers-the-warboys-bannister-years/

I keep imagining the team bus driving passed Steve Cotterill's home pre match to give him a wave of support or a mini team talk on his front lawn!

There's multi-national companies being run on Zoom, there's no need to be macho and be physically there.

Wouldn't want to be without Steve for many months more

It's just nice going ino games thinking we've got a chance for a change. I could get used to this feeling.

I hope SC doesn’t even think about going. He’ll never be able to sit still and I would have thought excessive exertion wouldn’t be at all good for him this early on in the recovery process.

Does SC live in Bristol or someway out, anyone know? You do wonder what might be going through his mind if we are just playing down the road.

They said he struggled to watch last weekends game at his home without extra oxygen so I’m certain that his head will over-rule his heart today. COYB

And that is exactly why I am worried... its been such a long time since I looked forward to Town matches, and whilst I love the feeling, it is tempered by the certain knowledge that this run will end sometime..... (Tomorrow, perhaps, on the basis that tomorrow never comes) 🤣🤣 COYB!!!!.... LOUDLY

I can't get visions of Cotterill leaning on his garden gate with a nice cup of tea having a bit of a chat with everyone out of my head.

With the warm weather it would of been lovely on the open terrace at rovers today. Went to uni in Bristol and lived near to Rovers home ground. Lots of pubs with beer gardens nearby. Would of made a cracking away day.

One of the most underrated town goals of all time, that was. Only 3 years since but I'm already at the "Ee, that were a team" stage (in the best Yorkshire accent I can muster). What a superb season that was (bar the final day of course).
