Name me any self respecting husband/father who would not try and protect his family from the 'gutter press' that is the media. Anything - doesn't matter if it's all lies - to sell a newspaper. If stepping down from Royal duties and moving to another country is the answer so be it. He has stated, and I heard it with my own ears, that he has not left 'The Family'. Good luck to them I say. I admire him for putting his wife & child before anyone/anything else. Some have called him weak !! I can assure you that anyone who has served in the military - and on the front line - is certainly NOT weak. There is a big difference between being weak and caring about what happens to your wife & family. Only the Royals know what is truly going on, the rest is hearsay. Stop, think, put yourself in his position and ask yourselves..... what would you have done to protect your family? Most of us put our families first and would do 'absolutely anything' to protect them. At the same time prostituting them to the American press when it suits....

His intervie w with James Corden was pretty entertaining. If one is blue blood royalty, one should not be being interviewed by James Cordon!

How the hell did this thread morph from one about H&M (or is it M&H?) to alleged illegal actions by the Health Secretary? Because it's the Tories fault? Everything is on here ... Many a true word spoken in jest. Glad you are finally seeing the light.

my dad went back in again yesterday, temp up for last few days, still is, on a IV drip with, infection that they dont know where, had a lot of radiation treatment every day last week so who knows he's currently in his own room strictly no visitors my whole grudge with big ears charles last week was its kind of a kick in the teeth for the likes of us , i mean it wasnt just charles jumping in his car and driving 200 miles was it, he probably had the whole 'nights watch' with him making the same journey Totally get that buddy and I pray for a speedy recovery for your dad My point was though, and still is, that we did not know any details around phillips admission. If he was EOL then visitors would be the same rules as most other nhs hospitals including ours👍 my mum has now visited 2 or 3 times, thanks for your help anyway matron, not a well man my poor dad

I know everyone has different standards but not sure if it is appropriate at the present time with the Duke in hospital, for the Harry and Megan interview to be broadcast at the present time.

Or at any time if they don’t want publicity. That would be fine if the gutter press would leave them alone, but they certainly won't. There are two sides to every story, so if the rabble carry on like a dog with a bone, H&M must be allowed to respond. WE have the option to believe whichever one we want to, but I cannot see me ever believing the Daily Mail.

They are the ones who have signed contracts with American companies to give interviews though rather than just get on with whatever it is they are doing.

Surely to be left alone by the British media Harry just needs to rape an under-age girl in a convicted sex offender's house.

Bullying's ok; ask Priti Patel. As Sean's post suggests, anything goes really - just so long as you're on the side where the power resides. The UK seems to be a world leader when it comes to double standards.

Basically it’s descending into a civil war between the Sussexes and the rest of the Royal family. Most of the media is just reporting it as it happens but the majority of the columnists and editorials are extremely one sided.

In the US they don't have royalty, they have Hollywood royalty, they have Wall St., they have billionaire tech and oil barons and many other people that are put up there to be worshipped by the masses. Being a genuine royal in the US puts you above everyone else, therefore when you agree to meet up and be interviewed by Hollywood royalty it is huge.
In this country we are slightly more circumspect and don't worship billionaires or film stars like they do over there, even though there are plenty of people in this country that absolutely adore the royal family, I don't think many would go as far as worshiping them.
This young family have decided that they don't want to play the game in this country any longer, as everything they say or do is scrutinised to the Nth degree by a press that cares more for a scandal than anything else, so long as it is just a minor scandal that will fill the front page for a day or two, before being relegated to an opinion piece a few days later and then forgotten, not a real, genuine scandal like Andrew hanging out with kiddie fiddlers or having sex with underage girls, things like that need to be brushed under the rug as soon as possible, don't want to upset the apple cart too much. If they can make their way in the US where their right to live their own lives in relative peace while speaking to the media on their own terms is allowed who are we to complain?
If I recall correctly his mother was hounded to her death by members or agents of the UK press, so it's small wonder that he has zero respect for the likes of the S*n, Mirror, Mail or Express. The digging up of any dirt on his wife has been relentless since before they even tied the knot, so I would imagine that would not have pleased them either. The vast majority of the British press is functioning below the gutter and yet they have the ability to turn usually rational people into raving monsters. Bizarre.

Qwhite interesting how determined some are to inject hostility on this topic at every opportunity Just a continuation of things isn't it, that's how I see it anyhow. It seems one or two on the left have taken to defending Harry and Meghan because of the accusations of racism and the intrusion of the press (the Mail being front and centre of that). Whilst one or two on the right seem to think he has been duped and kidnapped by some femme fatale looking to make hay with the royal name. It will be interesting to see how the accusations of bullying are handled considering the furore around Patel.

In no way am I supporting either issue as bullying is bullying but someone who was employed as a "Personal Assistant" to a Royal is very different to someone employed to help up hold the security/laws of the country, so the pressures and expectations of the job are very different.

Well of course the situations are different because of who is involve but as you say, bullying is bullying. I don't really see the difference when it comes to the act of bullying. I'm a tad confused as to why anyone would. I was more referring to how people will view this, considering some were critical of Patel whilst others were OK for her to continue. There was an awful lot said towards Patel around the bullying of staff, you just wonder whether you will see some consistency (I mean only when it comes to those who are actually bothered about the this, those who see a need to have a pop or defend them). Just reading now that the allegations of bullying at Buckingham Palace will be investigated so we wait and see what that comes up with. Its like a soap opera.

Some day this is all going to end up on Netflix isn't it. Plenty more material for The Crown. Which apparently doesn't mind the odd falsehood anyhow.

Quite frankly I am fed up of the whole thing. Meghan and Harry are just an estranged part of the Royal Family, by their own choice. There have been estranged members of the family before and the Royal Family sails on without them. Let's all just sail on without them.
