I see Stefan Payne scored in the 93rd minute to equalize for Grimsby against Stevenage, only for Stevens to bag one in for Stevenage in the 95 minute and win 2-1.
Shame Mr Hurst, not done too well since you shat on the Salop!
On a different note, Akwasi Asante scored again for Chesterfield in a 2 all draw. His 7th goal in 8 games, he was on loan to us in 2013.

Stefan Payne? He needs some new ideas. Did Hursty not do any scouting while out of management?

Didn't he sign for Bristol Rovers because he wanted to be nearer his home in the South?
Grimsby, with the wind howling in from the North Sea, seems not to really fit the bill.

Southend and Grimsby showing signs of getting cut adrift.

Wasn’t it Ogogo who wanted to be further south?

Brought them back into the league - will he have the honour of taking them back out as well I wonder?

I’m sure that whole ‘closer to my family’ excuse is football-speak for “...I’m moving on to somewhere that’s offering a couple of hundred quid a month more. But I’ve spent the last two years telling everyone what a great club this is and how special the fans are so don’t want to now look like a total bulls**tter”

I sincerely hope this isn’t a small time thread showing us up to be bitter losers.

I sincerely hope this isn’t a small time thread showing us up to be bitter losers. If the OP has nothing better to do, perhaps he can ask himself why he’s named himself after a town where one of Britain’s most notorious killers was allegedly rehoused.

Not sure if it has been mentioned elsewhere, but I see that Hurst is also trying to get the Shop back but so far Hereford are resisting.

I sincerely hope this isn’t a small time thread showing us up to be bitter losers. I think it shows that Hurst isn't the messiah some people think he would have been for us. Done almost precisely nothing for Grimsby results wise..no manager bounce and as usual gets his old players in like Payne and the Ipswich chap el mouzini or something similar !! Played more games than other teams around him and fans frustrated at lack of signings

In fairness Hurst must almost be a blessed relief after the Holloway circus.
All the ‘investing in the club’ and ‘settling in Grimsby’ talk soon drifted away as soon as the results stopped, for all the finger pointing and blaming people at the club he would still be there if he’d put a challenging team together.
As it was, he made a beeline for the Soccer AM studios where he was free to perform his patter and get his ‘top geezer’ adulation.
Just grateful he’s never ended up here, nice as he seems.

Yes I’m sure it was Ogogo who wanted to be nearer the south and I think he ended up at Coventry! He then went to Bristol Rovers I think.
Didn’t Payne go to Tranmere at some stage?

Ah right apologies my mistake - not for the first time!! Never mind. Perhaps with all the curent restrictions about going abroad, Payne could offer his family a holiday in sunny Cleethorpes this summer whilst he and Waterfall are preparing for life in the National League!

What a has-been Hursty is! What Grimsby need is a manager with an eye for a good signing - call for Sam!
