Had my second jab at Chester racecourse this morning. It was certainly much busier than when I went for my first one in March. The nurse who administered my injection said that they were already geared up for a further increase in numbers going into next week. They will be needing additional stewards to support the roll out. glad to hear this great news

www.shropshirestar.com/news/health/coronavirus-covid19/2021/05/20/over-34s-invited-for-vaccinations--but-appointments-may-be-out-of-area/"Over 34s invited for vaccinations β but appointments may be out of area,People over 34 in Shropshire are being urged to book Covid vaccinations β although some appointments may be out of the county, with a fresh vaccine delivery expected at the end of the month.Angie Wallace, programme director of the Covid Vaccination Service for Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin said that if people cannot secure an appointment close to home, they can keep re-checking the booking site β with appointments being added when they are available. It comes amid reports of people from Telford being allocated Wolverhampton as their nearest location for an appointment. Ms Wallace's statement does address the situation, outlining the expectation that more vaccine will be delivered to the county later this month. Ms Wallace said that the progress on the vaccination programme had been effective so far, and added that people under 34 will be added to the eligible groups in the coming days and weeks. She said: "The Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin vaccination programme has worked at a tremendous pace to protect our local people, with more than 90 per cent of people over the age of 40 having received at least one dose. "In line with JCVI guidance, everyone over the age of 34, health and care workers, carers, people who are at high risk from Covid-19 and people with a learning disability are eligible to have the Covid-19 vaccination now and this will be extended to younger people over the coming days and weeks." She added: "We are focusing on ensuring that everyone in the high priority groups β aged over the age of 50, carers, those who are clinically vulnerable and people with a learning disability β have both first and second doses of the vaccine and encourage people in these groups to take up this offer."

Had my second jab at the bowling centre on Monday night. A lot busier than when I had my first. Thanks to all the firemen on duty and everybody involved in helping us all get to some semblance of normality. Much appreciated for all your efforts.

Iβve just seen that the Jansen single dose vaccine has been approved. More good news. whilst any new vaccine is good news and just having a single jab will speed things up on the down side it is made in a very similar way to the oxford vaccine and there have been cases of blood clots in the USA www.ema.europa.eu/en/news/covid-19-vaccine-janssen-ema-finds-possible-link-very-rare-cases-unusual-blood-clots-low-blood#:~:text=At%20its%20meeting%20of%2020,side%20effects%20of%20the%20vaccine. " At its meeting of 20 April 2021, EMA's safety committee (PRAC) concluded that a warning about unusual blood clots with low blood platelets should be added to the product information for COVID-19 Vaccine Janssen. PRAC also concluded that these events should be listed as very rare side effects of the vaccine.20 Apr 2021"

More chance of dying on my way to get the jab, than from the jab itself

More chance of dying on my way to get the jab, than from the jab itself i agree covid does pose a much greater risk and the % of people getting a blood clot from a long haul flight , the pill or covid is much higher. however if i was under 40 and could choose i would chose pfizer or moderna.

They appear to be turning the AZ vaccine centres into Pfizer ones now as the younger target group are not getting the AZ jab, only the older people going for the 2nd jab.

I have no reason to doubt you on this but where did you see/hear that? www.sath.nhs.uk/news/walk-in-vaccination-clinics/ seems to think it's only over 40's who are allowed to walk in?
