When you hear reports that about 75% of all over 80’s have had it... only 49% in shropshire at the moment, just seen it on tv this is why but with new vaccinationcenters opening and some gp's have started to vaccinate and more will be doing so in the next few weeks you would hope they will pick up speed www.shropshirestar.com/news/health/coronavirus-covid19/2021/01/21/health-bosses-defend-pace-of-too-slow-vaccine-rollout/"It comes after Telford & Wrekin Council’s leader Shaun Davies said the programme had got off to a “slow start” in the county. He also says counties with lower infection rates have actually had higher numbers of vaccines delivered already.

A vaccination programme on this unprecedented scale was never going to ensure that the numbers of jabs given in any particular area, or district were going to be identical at any given moment in time. The important thing is that the ever increasing national roll-out rate is very encouraging.

See Scotland has had over 700k doses delivered but only used 400k of them.... hoarding like this does not help so hope they ramp up and use what they have.
But then again they say that about the money they get, which they hoard up to use for a court case for independence..... ah well... at least they are getting drugs and drink problems under control.

Yes, Shropshire has been very slow in vaccinating people but with new centres opening things should improve greatly . Personally I strongly believe much needs to be done to educate people that even though they have had a jab or two it doesn’t mean life can return to what was considered “. normal “ . We all need to continue to take every precaution when out shopping , excercising or whatever under the regulations . My greatest fear is that there are enough nob heads about who think that by having the jab they have been given a “ get out of jail free “ card . Far from it . The biggest hurdle to overcome during this pandemic is our own stupidity unfortunately. So, I would like the Government to really push the message , have the vaccine but continue to follow the rules .

Hats off to her though, her sound bites on international scale seem good.... her problem is domestically.

A vaccination programme on this unprecedented scale was never going to ensure that the numbers of jabs given in any particular area, or district were going to be identical at any given moment in time. The important thing is that the ever increasing national roll-out rate is very encouraging. there are huge levels of anxiety and fear in the country and whilst on a logical level you can understand that there will be regional differences and the scale of the vaccination is unprecedented and does take time to be running amoothly . on an emotional level when things are the way they are with high levels of deaths and some areas are seemingly steaming ahead then fear will lead to frustration and with so many other fears , job security, debt, bereavments and the mental toll of lock down. then one thing can be the focus of there fear and frustration be it the goverment or hte vaccination roll out we are getting there and the other day we nearly vaccinated half a million if we can keep that up then we can reach the tragets set by the goverment.locally we are opening more vaccination centers and more gp's are doing vaccination. my wife works in social care and was vaccinated the other day, one of the staff told her they have been subjected to verbal abuse, which is unfair.

There have been loopholes that have now been closed that a few unscrupulous people exploited to get the jab via the NHS system. There should be investigations into this and anyone fraudulently getting the jab should be pitted and fined heavily.
What I find now is all those now stating why there particular group should be now top priority.

Tiny percentage, meanwhile one of the biggest peacetime efforts by everyone, yes, including the Health Secretary and the Vaccines Minister, goes on apace. Let's just get in with it. 1 dose for everyone as soon as possible. 2nd dose for the vulnerable as soon as possible. 2nd dose for everyone when they can, perhaps a 2nd dose modified to cater for virus mutations. Don't know if this lot stand to make an absolute fortune:- UK Covid-19 passport moves into trial phase

whilst i understand the logic of giving one injection to try and give as many as possible some protection from one vaccination. i think they should have made an exzemption for front line nhs staff,if you are working in a&e a covid ward or a paramedic your exposuer at close rane to people with active symptoms of covid is very high, the numbers of front line staff off sick with covid is high, when you consider we have a shortage of doctors, intensive care nurses , radiologist and paramedics,it seems logical to give them both vaccinations to ensure as many key staff are available as possible. to reduce pressuer on services and fellow staff. this may seem contreversal and i fully understand why there would be a case for other groups.

Not sure how reliable it is but the 'vaccine calculator' which was previously predicting I would get the jab between July & October is now saying I'll get the first jab in April and the second jab in July

My daughter had hers today.....she is a pharmacist that works for Boots. Reading elsewhere I understand that the site at Telford International Centre is doing healthcare workers only Mon, Tues, Weds before starting jabbing the general public from Thursday.

That would fit with the fact my wife has been called today, and she gets hers tomorrow.

If anyone has had or gets a letter through the post, you can go online and book your jab at Telford International Centre. They’re starting with 1,000 a day but aiming to get up to 10,000 a day in future Likely to be quicker then waiting for a GP or the like closer to home

No safer place some might say Certainly the science suggests it’s highly unlikely to be transmissible outside on average the first 3 hours of the day are spent indoors preparing my round, 2 meters ? 2 feet if you are lucky, i handle a couple of 1000 items touched in the last 24 hours by as many people, and then i pop them through 500-1000 letterboxes , whilst i'm out i take covid test kits to those who have symptoms and have requested one, and collect the same kits from those who have done the test, we're into double figures of confirmed cases in our office most postmen are young kids, unlikely to have any symptoms unlike pharmacists we dont have ANY tests how many of you grab the mail from your letter box the second it arrives and immediatly open it ? just saying

Could always report them anonymously if it’s as bad as you say, they’re breaking the law You say you’ve not had as much as a rumour when your due. From reading previous posts, if your clinically extremely vulnerable you’ll be done by 15th February. If it’s just an underlying condition your in cohort 6 which is due in March. The priority order is all over the internet and news In my opinion Police, Teachers, and shop workers would all be above your profession in the list, simply because they have regular and constant close contact with many other people

I built this house I live in 4 years ago, and can honestly say I have probably touched the letter box about 2 times a year!! The only person who touch’s it is the postwoman

I see politics is now being played on the vaccine front. EU threatening to block vaccine exports and stories emerging from Germany about the efficacy of the Oxford vaccine. And then questions being asked as to how the UK is still getting the full orders but the EU aren't.
Good to see the world pulling together in these times
