These same clubs will be well aware of his contract situation/availability and eagerness to return. I suspect he will end up in England at another league 1 club

i hope we ghet him back i think he would like up well with chapman he was good on the wing and the cut back balls whould be on the end of chapmans boot this time. but i presume coterrill had the option to give him a contract before he left and did not so i doubt we will see him.

Was thinking the other (yeah I know) that players may want to come here because of SC.
He seems popular with players, he had been successful at this level and looks to bring players on.
Might sway with players like Millar, and in my dream world Chapman and Main.

I'm getting a bit fed up of this now, I don't blame the player, but he seems to have maybe a too "shouty" agent? Perhaps it's because he is so far away.
A familar pattern, first it's Matt would "be keen to be at Shewsbury", then it's "lots of clubs are interested".
Fact is we have done ok without him. No player is indispensable, that's proved when a player gets injured. We have a rebuild this summer, Steve knows about him, if he thinks Millar fits what he has in mind he will bring him in if the right deal can be struck, if not then we move on, like we have with Grigg.

Agree think his agent is definitely pushing for this given levels of reporting and social media etc. Although possibly he is more newsworthy in Aus, as players moving from Aus to England would be a fairly big deal I assume. Given that generally the other way and it's players from England either at the twilight of their careers or failed in league football. I note Aaron Amadi-Holloway is now plying his trade in India! Given he is out of contract and plays for a club abroad, there is nothing to stop him signing a pre contract agreement now given he is in the last 6 months. I suspect he will be back if EFL come next season - if it is for us who knows π€·

He's clearly back from injury, clearly keen and has proven he can score - a much better bet than that bloke that went to MK, although we are told we wanted both now.

Proven he can score maybe, but not proflifically by any stretch. Career goals of 41 in nearly 300 games. Only ever got double figures in a season once. This season - other than the 2 goals you mention, he has scored 1 other goal for Aberdeen (against the might NSI Runavik of the Faroe Islands) and the penalty against MK Dons the other day. He's a serviceable player, but if he going to be leading the line next season, there is going to have to be plenty of other players weighing in with goals.

If he manages anything like that playing for Shrewsbury he'll be one of our better strikers, they usually lose the will to score when we take them on, but he seems a worker, and Albs and Steve could be his inspiration.

He's broadly in line with Shaun Whalley as a career average or his time with Shrewsbury. Which considering he has played most of that time as a winger and some seasons as limited as 2 goals, I don't think I'd be that thrilled with that output as a sole striker.

Would say it's all dependent on who's around him though. Can't imagine Carlton Morris' goals per game looks any better than that and certainly wasn't in the season we had him, but he was an absolutely vital part of the best team we've had in decades because he brought other goalscorers into the game who all chipped in over the course of a season.
