Just saw this retweeted on Twitter, not the best news considering I've been really impressed by him and sounds like he wanted to stay but apparently we've missed the deadline to make the move permanent.

In Cotterill we trust but that’s a big call if correct

Sounds like SC doesn't rate him or we forgot to do the admin during the SR and SC changeover! Hope we can sort as I like him. Who else have we got as a RB? Vela?!?!

Lewis Cox under the impression that Cotterill intends to bring his own men in.

Sounds like brinkmanship same as the Brexit talks: If you want him tell us right now.

Lewis Cox under the impression that Cotterill intends to bring his own men in. that appears the case now yeah, especially as newcastle say there was a deadline that they even extended and SC is saying he was unaware of it maybe those above SC at the club have decided all you need is love

Sounds like an admin error to me.

Of course, Matt Millar himself might have other ideas. If he's ok here socially then doubt he's going back, but might go to another league club here.

Surprised me that, he's looked great for us in a limited number of games. Strong, quick, eye for a goal, looks exactly the player for RWB.

Not even the great Lewis Cox and the bible that is the Shropshire Star know exactly what's going on at their local club - they were running stories that Hurst wanted to come back.

I think Millar gave us another dimension to our play with his energy and swash-buckling style and it would be a shame to see him go. Perhaps SC has somebody else already lined up for the position. After all, he didn't exactly give Millar a glowing review when asked by Cox. I think the best he could muster was that he was "a good athlete."

Personally disappointed with this, can only hope we have someone else in mind to come in.

Be prepared for at least 4 Div2 players including a couple from Cambridge United.
There is another Ayling on his way.

A bit difficult to understand that, as he has been one of the more consistent players.
I honestly thought he would be signed, even if it was just as a squad player.
Maybe it is an admin error, but are we ever informed about everything ? NO.

A real shame he's not staying as he's been fabulous. Defensively sound but excellent going forward. That said, got to respect Cotterill needs to make his own mind up and to bring in the players he wants but a shame the deadline was not extended to allow this to happen.
I doubt we're the only ones impressed and would not be surprised to see him given a chance in England somewhere else on the back of this.
Good luck Matt.

I will be very disappointed if Millar is not signed, he has been one bright light over the last few weeks. But we have to rely on SC making the right decisions. You can almost guarantee another British club will sign him up if we fail too!

Must admit when I saw this headline I assumed it would be Matt himself's decision given our poor form.
The phrase "missed trigger deadline" does imply some sort of admin foul up. That said, I also wonder if triggering the clause would commit us to a set fee which Cotterill doesn't like? Wonder if this might be the start of a negotiation?
Either way, I've been impressed with Matt and would like to see him stay so hope something can be worked out but I also don't doubt he msy have caught the attention of a few other clubs and would fully understand if he looks elsewhere given where we are.

SC's interview did mention Millar turning up in all sorts of places on the pitch that he was not expected to be in - perhaps that is code for did not follow my tactical instructions. A shame he is going back - thought we had the makings of a good League 1 player there.

Having said that, I think he's better than Love so would rather see him go over Millar.

To "miss a deadline" generalky implies you were at least trying to meet it. Could just be a poorly worded article though.
