Where does everyone suddenly get the idea that Shropshire is likely to go into Tier 3 after lockdown? We have only been in Tier 1 Our infection rate is well over the 100 per 100k rate threshold for tier 1 under the old system (currently hovering somewhere between 180 and 220 odd depending which source you look at). Find it really interesting the trouble people are having believing that "sleepy Shropshire" could be a higher tier. Speaks to the class connotations that have started to build up around the issue. You are, of course, perfectly correct in the supposition that there are "Class connotations" around this issue, insofar as "everything you think do and say is in the ("identarian) pill" you took today.... 🤣🤣 (Apologies to Zager and Evans). Hell's teeth, I would LOVE to get inside your mind to see how it works😂😂😂!

It’s not just the number of cases that impacts on which tier an area goes in, but how the hospital numbers are doing.
Shropshire and Telford are I think at top end of capacity and with an older population and the hospital capacity being relatively small that will be a big factor in the decision making.

Yes, for the attention of the Tory supporters on here, I don't hold the government responsible for this feeling! Hiya... Conservative supporter here! Is not that comment a classic example of "false consciousness"? 🤣🤣🤣🤣 (By the way, the above is intended as a joke) What , that you’re a Tory supporter .😉

I think he's referring to individual wards. It's quite possible for a low number of cases in a small place to cause a spike in cases per 100k due to low population (i.e. a cluster is a cluster wherever you are but 20 cases in Crewe won't have the same effect on the rate per 100k as if you are just looking at a smaller area). Yes, it was data at Ward level that I saw.

FL Trophy games have been lossmakers more or less forever, I’m sure Brian has said that before. fl trophey is decent money for wins, more than covers costs anyway whereas the carabou cup in comparison only pays out if a club reaches at least the semis last season we had people wanting to boycott the fl trophey and moaned when we as good as threw the league cup game v rotherham

Horse is not being negative, just pragmatic and sensible. It’s no doubt good news and a positive step but if it results in the club losing more money per game than they are now then you have to question is it worth it. I’m sure Brian alluded to this very point much earlier in the pandemic but I could be wrong. My opinion for what it’s worth is that perhaps the club could just select a small number of games to allow limited numbers of fans to attend until such time that it is financially viable. That way the Salop faithful have their insatiable appetite to watch this turgid team in the flesh satisfied, whilst the costs incurred by the club to enable this are somewhat mitigated. Not sure how realistic that is from a PR perspective mind. sensible ?, he spends all week insisting we invest in sacking the manager and then suggests the club would be better off not allowing fans with tickets to watch the game because it might cost us a few quid, i wonder how he'd feel if he actually had a ticket and wasnt allowed in

From BBC Sport article: ‘The EFL has a full schedule of matches in the Championship, League One and League Two across 1-2 December. No decisions have yet been taken but any club in a tier one or two area that requested a move from Tuesday to Wednesday is likely to receive a favourable response if there is no conflict with broadcasting requirements.’ So the Accrington game could be moved to Wednesday night to accommodate fans if we ask? Go for it Brian! I’m sure you’ll make a success of it. Edit: Actually just seen we’re playing on the Wednesday anyway due to FA Cup game being on the Sunday... so we could have fans at the game next week? The Accrington game is already on the Wednesday, just a question if we have the time to allow fans back and depending on which tier we are in.

Well with the time we had with the Northampton game was very little and we managed that so I’d like to think we’d manage to get the fans in against Accrington with 10 days notice, I’d imagine we’d be preparing for it right now.

Yes we do have an advantage over some other clubs in that we have had a pilot go so everything should be more or less in place.

If he is still here by then, SR must be praying that we are in Tier 3 after December 2nd! Keep up

Surely if restrictions actually finish at Midnight on December 2nd then the game would have to be moved to the Thursday to allow fans in ??
