Henderson Bolton, Sharps, Cansdell-Sheriff, Sadler Godfrey Ainsworth, Docherty, Dunfield, Wright Morris Difficult to name a terrible eleven. Kennedy and Loft signed by Askey played one game for us then dropped into the National League but they didn’t necessarily leave a lasting impression of being particularly bad. Amadi-Holloway leaves a lasting impression of being a bad player. Coleman was a terrible keeper. surprised at morris, i'd have holt any day of the week, and i think morris would be a long way down my list

GK Weale
RB Moss CB Goldson CB Godfrey LB Jacobsen
DM Ogogo
RM Taylor CM Woods LM Davies
AM Nolan
CF Holt
I've gone for a dependable look that I think Roland would like. Creative up the wings and in the centre, decent at set pieces, hard working, and perhaps with some scope to play in a higher division
Weale/Henderson/Leutwiler - but for me it's Weale. Henderson was great and a fan favourite, but he was young and could be inconsistent between moments of brilliance. Leutwiler also great but kicking was an issue. Weale just more dependable for me.
RB Herd/Grandison but I liked Darren Moss. Again I felt he was Mr Dependable, could get forward and score goals. Grandison admirable but out of position at RB. Herd again dependable, but I think Moss with that attacking touch just had a bit more about his game.
CB Goldson I always thought was class and was disappointed when he went. Grandison great but not quite dependable enough. Godfrey rarely let us down and had some scope. Sharps was always ultra dependable, but I think he had his limits and less scope than Godfrey. Sharps v Godfrey was my toughest choice
LB Jacobsen v Tierney. I think Jacobsen was a little underrated but did quietly went about his business and became established through consistently good performances. This was difficult.
DM Ogogo. Just superb, incredible work ethic, would protect that back four and pop up in support going forward. Like having two men on the pitch
CM Woods - another hard worker, always there for the ball, talented, again like having another man on the pitch. Couldn't score to save his life, but ultra reliable
RM Taylor - tricky, dependable, could be a match winner and pop up with something out of the blue to change a game
LM Ben Davies - decent set piece taker. Not as great as Jemson! But never let us down and had a good all round game, topped off by those set pieces
AM Nolan - class and intelligent. I think he would've worked wonders supporting Holt
CF Holt - probably the best and most exciting signing we've made in the last 20 years. A class above and it was a privilege to have him here. Came with a lot of pressure to live up to his price tag and grabbed the opportunity with both hands.

I’ll have a go at nominating an XI, not necessarily the best but players I enjoyed watching, 4-4-2 formation. Henderson, Herd, Grandison, Golson, Tierney, M Wright, B Davies, Woods, Pugh, Bradshaw, Holt. Manager Peters. Peters?!?! Purely on liking him as a person, a couple of times at reserve games here in the north west he saw me wearing a Town scarf and came over to chat. He had his philosophy of the game which he stuck to, I didn’t always agree with him but he seemed to enjoy talking to people about football.

After that I moved to 17.

Dean Peer in centre mid for me, I used to cringe watching him. Ineligible - didn't play at the New Meadow. Sorry I need to learn to read the title first Still awful and painful to watch player

It was between Morris and Collins.

Purely on liking him as a person, a couple of times at reserve games here in the north west he saw me wearing a Town scarf and came over to chat. He had his philosophy of the game which he stuck to, I didn’t always agree with him but he seemed to enjoy talking to people about football. I liked Peters and was sad to see him go. Certainly advocated a rather agricultural style of play, but came across as a true leader. Hard taskmaster to play under but he stood up for his players publicly and took a lot on the chin. Unlike his ‘diabolical’ successor. I didn’t always agree with him either, but I think few truly cared about the club they were entrusted with managing as much as he did. Two things burned his bridges with the fans, which cost him a lot of goodwill when the results turned. - His comments about Gay Meadow after the Grimsby match - His handling of the whole Dave Edwards contract affair I think in both instances he was acting in the best interests of the club and had no room for sentiment... although they were very unpopular viewpoints. Probably disliked by fans who imagine themselves liking a manager who ‘says it as it is’ Perhaps one thing that highlights a difference in attitude... shortly before a Wembley play-off final he was so focused on getting promoted and the following season, he was prepared to ostracise a highly rated local lad, one of the key players in the squad, as he was stalling until the season end before committing to a contract. Fast forward a few years, and the almighty Paul Hurst was ducking the media post-match, and more likely than not feathering his own nest in the immediate lead up to the match. Not a commentary on what they achieved as manager, but more their attitude towards the club.

I'm pretty sure that we must be approaching one of the worst starts to a season that the clubs ever had (perhaps soon to be the worst) and yet not one of the current lot would make the Worst XI, not by a million miles. Which is what makes this season even more annoying. This squad has loads of potential, sadly due to tactics or should I say too many changes of tactics we are not a team

D.Henderson
B.Herd - C.Goldson - I.Sharps - M.Tierney
R.Woods - B.Godfrey
J.Taylor - G.Docherty - M.Wright
G.Holt
If 4-4-2 I'd go:
D.Henderson
B.Herd - C.Goldson - I.Sharps - M.Tierney
J.Taylor - B.Davies - B.Godfrey - M.Wright
G.Holt J.Collins

I can't begin to think of my worst team, I'll give it some thought.

How will people choose between Nolan, Woods and Godfrey? How many people will have Jake Simpson in their squad? Will anyone pass up on Holt upfront? Will Winfield be alongside Waterfall? So many interesting ideas this could bring up. I'm going to have a think tonight too before settling on my ideas. With Winfield, Mkandawire, Kempson, Murdoch, Gerrard, Whitbread and Dom Smith around I don’t think I’d have Waterfall even in consideration for the team I would add a dishonourable mention for Adam el Bad.
