My argument would be exactly the same with regard to SR. After Hurst nothing surprises me any more. Footballing loyalty went about 10-15 years ago at least. You'll never see the likes of Neville, Giggs, Scholes Ferguson again and especially in the lower leagues you're highly unlikely to see any player or manager do five years plus. No mention of Carragher and Gerrard in that list. Must have played for the wrong club!

They may well have heard the rumours like we did but I doubt they knew it for a fact. I have no doubt at all that he would have gone with their best wishes if they had been told officially.
If it was so well known before Wembley why did Hurst not acknowledge the fans at the end of the game. Fans who had supported him so strongly during the season. I’m afraid that, for me, summed him up completely.

Yeah but that was with Manchester United and a side that was winning everything in sight. That's not so much loyalty as "there really is nowhere better to go".

a mate told me yesterday about a lengthy conversation hurst and wycherley had on the coach back from wembley, it was all about planning for the next season etc unbeknown to roland, hurst had already cleared his desk It's not true. Roland & Brian knew long before Wembley. knew of rumours yes, we all did, they didnt know the deal was already done

I'll never ever forgive him. Never turn your back on this obnoxious man. He hadn't even got the guts to tell Roland himself and just slithered away and left it to others. Some of you obviously like being treated like s**t. Rubbish... we all knew so i'm sure Roland knew.... What's your opinion on the way Ricketts treated Wrexham? Rubbish in your opinion. Mr Iscariot sat next to Roland on the coach back from Wembley. Unless your calling the chairman a liar, there was a discussion about planning for the next season. Of course Roland had heard the rumours, we all had and were 90% sure they were true, but Mr Iscariot either denied or refused to comment on them. We approached Wrexham above board in the proper manner as far as I can see. Unlike Ipswich who more or less did the deal behind our backs and told us when it had happened.

re hurst and illegal approaches and roland
didnt we approach grimsby through the proper channels and have to stump up something like 50k just to initially speak to him ?
and some wonder why our fans and chairman are upset

Sorry shouldn't have rubbished your comment but seeing as you've asked no I wouldn't trust our Chairman (in business) but wouldn't go as far as calling him a liar. Usually successful businessmen get where they are by are by being selective with the truth and what they choose to say \ share......
