I know Wembley is not our favorite place but Wembley way ramp is to be demolished and steps built up from wembley way to the first level. It will be partly funded by Brent council as part of landscaping around that area. Locals don't want it , There will be disabled access by lifts carrying 3 people at a time So guess if you can not do steps you are in for a long wait. And can you imagine 90,000 people all going in to or leaving down the same set of steps. It looks good in the pictures but in real life It will be a nightmare.

Wembley can do what the hell it likes, I'm finished with the place. Was pretty awful before it got rebuilt, but 10 times worse now.

That sounds absolutely dreadful - I think the whole place should be razed, and a new National Stadium built on the site of the MK stadium - two wins for the price of one!

The Wembley Experience is a total rip-off from start to finish and hopefully if we get promoted in the future (probably from League 2!) we will do it automatically and not have to endure that place again.

Agreed it’s a horrible place. It wouldn’t matter if the unthinkable happened and we won there it would still be horrible and soulless.

On my first visit, when it had just been built, I found Wembley way to be one of the best parts of the day - we were there - the new stadium! It's a totally daft idea to get rid, what a disjointed welcome it's going to be with anyone in a wheelchair having to split from the party and queue for the lift. Putting in a load of steps is probably going to cause one of those crowd surges that kill too if someone trips. Madness!

I was getting depressed at the Lincoln game about 2 hours before kick off, kicking heels around the place, in the rain, being ripped off at every way you turn to spend money. Awful experience from start to finish. As you say winning might make some difference but not even that would make it great.

Rarely get to Wembley more than a few minutes before kick off, unless we walk down the High Road away from the ground and have a curry first Rarely arrive to walk up Wembley Way either. That is the route from the Tube stations, and we usually get a train from Marylebone to Wembley Stadium station on the other side of the ground or to Wembley Central, on the High Road, where again you come in on the other side

I suppose they could argue they can't win. In the past it was considered a big stadium in a run down area, they have spent a fortune on the area and now get moaned at for that.
For me, the disappointing thing is Wembley used to stand out, even the old stadium when it was run down. Now it looks like any other part of any major city, progress I guess.

What about the law on disabled access? Surely replacing a ramp with steps isn’t legal?

Like an increasing number of grounds built away from the centre, your day's what you make of it. Wembley will likely be crap unless you're there on a hot day and you get the Green Man beer garden, but there's plenty of other great options just a short tube ride away. Always staggers me how many people moan about the crap pubs near various stadiums on here when there's usually far better options around. We'd probably go down as a s**te away day if you parked up at the Charles Darwin two hours before kick-off and didn't make any effort, but a lot of fans make an effort and have a great time as a result. As I said to DaveyCrockett on here, if you go to Oxford away and you end up at the Hollywood Bowl you're doing it wrong.

Never went to the old Wembley, but each visit to the new place with Town has been a great day out... right up until the match! Best part about the last visit was parking at Wealdstone, great club. In hindsight I wish I’d stayed in the car park for the afternoon 😂 I think that a particularly disappointing match can sometimes skewer feelings about a ground. I hate Wembley, and honestly it’s only down to the fact I’ve had some of my most disappointing days supporting the club there. It’s well known the Anfield Road stand is fairly rubbish but even so, it wouldn’t have been an issue if we’d gone to Liverpool and given the first team a decent game. On a similar vein, no one ever casts their mind back to the Conference final and remember how searing hot it was all day, and the A53 being choca at each roundabout and junction all the way to Stoke, meaning lots of supporters only arriving a few minutes before the match started.

I guess if we ever get there again (hopefully not) I need to look at doing things a different way. Travelling on the coaches that get there not long before the game is possibly not a good way of doing it, but (a) I wouldnt be keen on driving down and (b) would need to find out a lot more about travelling by train to the game and what was available to do and see away from the area. There has to be a better way for sure. As for what happens on the pitch, well that's down to the team.......

Driving down isn’t too bad in fairness, we were a bit lucky last time re.Wealdstone, but if you don’t fancy driving into London just park up at one of the commuter belt Tube stations on the Metropolitan line (Hillingdon, Ruislip etc). You can always go down early and spend the morning in London. Train is even better, from Euston it’s only a stroll over to Euston Square. London away days are great, get down there early and make a day of it.

There will be a lift as well, apparently Which will be a massive pinch point in the event of an emergency. I am guessing their are plenty of other exits from the stadium that tie in with where the designated wheelchair seating area is?

Indeed, but our resident non league stalker does take great delight in letting us know they did win at Wembley - against the Dog and Duck sunday league team. I know which option I would take but it makes him feel happy.

Indeed, but our resident non league stalker does take great delight in letting us know they did win at Wembley - against the Dog and Duck sunday league team. I know which option I would take but it makes him feel happy. He isn’t happy though. He’s jealous as **** of our club, our stadium, our standing and spends his life dreaming of better times. He is putting all his hopes on investors from the Wild West putting mega dollars into his basket case of a club. A couple of million quid (or was it bucks?) wouldn’t even update the falling down hovel, let alone acquire any quality players of sufficient standard to take them anywhere near where he wants to be. We have seen it all before with Fairy Godfathers riding into promise the earth to our desperate neighbours - Shaw at the Ducks Shed and the mad yank at the Deva and look at both of those clubs now. It will all end in tears.

I would say that on the whole Wembley is as good a stadium as most others of its size around the world - possibly better than most. People should not hold a series of abysmal Town performances against a particular stadium. Those of us who have followed Town for many years will doubtless have seen abysmal Town performances at virtually every football ground in the country - does that make them awful grounds?
