You win some, you lose some. Overall he's doing ok.
Our sights have to be lower and a little further in the cup and League 1 survival will be a success.

Southgate has done well in my opinion, especially in giving young players a chance and making a seamless route from the U21 and U18 teams into the full team. He is constantly being let down by top premier league managers whose stars suddenly find themselves injured when called up by England but somehow make a miraculous recovery before the next premier league game. The other thing holding the England team back is the dearth of English international-class defenders - what wouldnt we give for another Des Walker or Rio Ferdinand.

To defensive is southgate, and that will be his downfall.same players will be playing in next years euros, as the ones who so badly let us down in last world cup.ie-- dier, kane, Henderson, sterling etc.kane cant do it in the big games as proved against iceland in 2016, and croatia in world cup 2018, he was out on his feet against croatia and southgate still didnt take him off.like to see grealish and maddison in midfield, and ings or dcl as the striker, but it wont happen, kane is indispensable to southgate--- and that will be his downfall

Southgate is to all intents and purposes an international Ricketts.
Turgid 5 at the back formation, a brief flit to a more adventurous 4-3-3 before quickly reverting to type. Regularly playing two defensive minded midfielders in front of a back five leaving one or two attacking players stranded up top. An over reliance on goals from set pieces. Wins over lesser ranked sides make the overall record look slightly better than the reality.

Totally agree feedo, he may as well go out in a blaze of glory, and play 4 strikers the talent is there I wouldn’t quite go that far! But we’ve got loads of genuinely exciting attacking talent that gets completely neutered by the system.
