The Mail "The ultimate entertainer': Tributes flood in for Des O'Connor, 88, who has died peacefully in his sleep a week after he was admitted to hospital following a fall at his home"
People of a certain age will will recall Des O'Connor's hilarious banter with Morecambe and Wise, who was the butt of many very funny scenes on there show my condolences to his family R.I.P

One of the greatest pop singers of all time, certainly in the top million - I believe his recordings are still played at many of our airports - scares the birds away. RIP.

my daughter had never seen;
Des O'Connor's hilarious banter with Morecambe and Wise, so we watched a clip on you tube she laughed her socks off,whilst tinged with sadness it was timless comedy.

I got Des O'Connors autograph when he was on at the Granada Shrewsbury. Some time later on the reverse side of his autobiograph page I got Tony Hancocks autograph. I sold the Hancock autograph some years later for £120. Obviously lost Des O'Connors autograph then as poor Des was just a bonus for the purchaser.

There’s a nice tribute to him on the BBC R4 show Last Word. He suffered from rickets as a child (no jokes please) and displayed a talent for mental arithmetic on Countdown.
