As much as Pilch and co hate these, let’s gauge the fanbase.
Have the Ricketts loyalists finally changed their mind after tonight?

No. He should be sacked tonight. Let me amend the question then. Should Ricketts be sacked ASAP?

I'm going to go for "unsure" as I don't see the harm (this early into the season) of giving him a little more time. But as I mentioned in the match thread, there was a time when I was watching the game tonight and wondering why the club, chairman, chief exec (and perhaps even the manager himself) expects us to suffer this...when as far as I can see, there is no reason to do so.

Have the Ricketts loyalists finally changed their mind after tonight? no i dont mind, have it your way, we can just make another 10 employees redundant to pay for it i wasnt crowing about daniels or pugh if you check, they were both awful tonight towns worst performance of the season tonight by far , even you dont have to pretend we deserved to lose ;-)

In all seriousness I can’t see a board that have just backed him to the tune of Daniels and Pugh suddenly panicking and pulling the trigger. If they do serious questions also need to be asked in why they invested so much in someone they clearly had little confidence in.
I did vote yes, but as long as he doesn’t take us down it can be whenever. I just know when fans are allowed back I want it to come with optimism and excitement, and not feel like a bad thing.

It may help sway support

I stuck up for him 1 week ago thinking we played well and lost but putting Pierre up front as SR has no other idea's baffles me.
As i said before there is a good team in there just no organisation, the players have to be told what the manager wants and i don't think SR knows what he wants.

The players have let Sam Ricketts down big style tonight with such a poor uninspiring performance. They all looked lost and lacking in any desire.

No, because it wouldn't make any sense at this very moment given the further backing he's just received from the board to sign Daniels and now Pugh.

Whilst we get relegated and let’s say fans suddenly are allowed back into stadiums... oh but what’s this!? Crawley at home is it today boys and not Sunderland?? 1,800 paying away fans has just turned into 120 max. Look at the bigger picture!!

It may help sway support actually if we sack him now, if the new manager doesnt hit the ground running we can always replace him too before the january window shuts ;-)

Apparently according to Ricketts the problem tonight was the wind in his interview. I’ve heard everything now.

In normal times he absolutely should go.
However I still stand by my previous point that it feels that there are more important things at stake this season - the life and soul of the game as we know it, or if our club can even survive.... all managers are temporary anyway. Will Sam get through this rocky patch and then we can return to his previous heady heights of winning one league game per calendar month? Snap your hand off for that right now

Reminds me of the awful final throes of the Mellon era and the final throes of the legend THAT IS Graham Turner. Football with no set formation, no discernible game plan , no structure just a seemingly “ off the cuff “ hoof ball. The playing of a centre- back up front literally smacks of desperation. There are experienced managers out there who are looking for another chance , so let’s take a chance now and make the decision.
Thank you Mr Samuel Ricketts for your efforts , we wish you well in the future.

The slight improvement (and it's very much relative) in the last twenty minutes buys him until Saturday, so I've gone for unsure.
Which we'll probably lose, but providing we're not disgracefully bad I'd give him til Tuesday. Don't win that and/or play as badly as we did tonight and I'd say it's probably time to call it quits.
We've gone from a tentatively ok start to shambolic all over the park, and I can't really see him turning it around. Does feel like a matter of when not if now.

funny what the difference in 2 sides hitting the post can do
town for the 3rd game running hit the woodwork and nothing
fleetwood hit the post and it goes in
as micky 'hardy' mellon would say
thats another fine margin you've got me into ;-)

Sack him, put Whitehead in charge, with Edward's as his assistant.wont cost anymore will it, and certainly wont do any worse!!! Yes I will admit I stopped going after funnily enough the 3-0 home defeat by fleetwood last season, and obviously haven't improved since.how much time does he want to improve team/results.i dont know where we're going ---- league 2 by the looks😫😩

Will Sam get through this rocky patch and then we can return to his previous heady heights of winning one league game per calendar month? Snap your hand off for that right now I've said before that he is lucky he is managing in this environment as I think inevitably it will give him more time. He is no different to Askey as this point and Askey was only a few months in, not 2 years. But I think Ricketts will get more time. He has no fans at games to answer to, and money is all over the place. I am slightly baffled as to the money given for signings over the last few weeks but that is surely at least a sign his job is not on the line right now. I expect he will be given some stern words and expectations that if things don't pick up in the coming month or two then he may be in trouble but will he be sacked in the morning - I highly doubt it.
