Like most companies looking for support through this crisis Roland could offer shares for sale - this would allow those wanting to make a contribution to make one. As noted above the club did the right thing with the last season ticket refund and they got a good response from the fans who chose to let the club keep the cash. This time round it is a much bigger ask - our household spent over £600 on season tickets. Offer me shares in return, and the club can keep the cash; tell me our names will be on another brick, poster, page of a book, etc, then it is far more difficult to explain to the wife and I'll likely be asking for the money back. Agree with this. There could be a real opportunity to significantly change the relationship between the Club and fanbase here. However, the Trust is dormant (defunct) and the SP is a talking shop. There's no organised group to push for this.

Roland will not offer shares, I cannot see that happening for a minute.

I would expect the Government to refund clubs who would then pass it on to ST holders. Their incompetence has led us to the situation we are in now. Good luck with that, you're asking the Government to admit they've done something wrong or poorly. More chance of hell freezing over

With a worldwide pandemic that has caused death and economic misery for millions around the world coupled with the severe impact it has had upon all sporting events, it's amazing that you can even think like that.

We can't be far off some clubs needing to start up £20 a month schemes to survive this.

Following my retirement in March I had planned to buy a season ticket for 2020/21, as I felt that I now had more time to attend home games on a more regular basis.
The early bird offer was certainly tempting but with the lockdown at the time I decided to err on the side of caution and so did not go ahead with the purchase.
This is certainly a tough one for those that have invested in a season ticket and clearly we all want our club to survive this crisis but, at the same time we all have different financial circumstances to consider and this needs to be considered carefully and sympathetically by the club.

Roland will not offer shares, I cannot see that happening for a minute. Sadly I think that you are right; I think there is only scope for less than £100k before new shares would need to be issued. Roland would never dilute his holding and he would not put any money into the club to match the increase.

I imagine any form of government intervention would be a lump sum payment to the FA/EPL/EFL to cascade down and distribute as they see fit. Unfortunately I have about as much confidence in the decision making and competence of the EFL as I do with the government.

Indeed, unless all clubs received the same sum it would be a charter to mismanage in the expectation of being bailed out with those clubs that are being well managed being penalised.

I think most of us expected some disruption and to have to miss a few games due to the pandemic. I doubt many expected 6 months worth (I certainly didn't).
I think the club needs to strike a balance somehow. I think £300 for a whole season of iFollow is way overpriced tbh but I would probably be happy with a partial refund and an improved service from iFollow.
I think the idea about offering the season ticket holders some kind of equity in the club is an interesting one but can't see Roland going for it. Big hit to the P and L too.

But then you take the risk of not having gained that ST seat back so you can sit together next season.

Some people might be happy to accept it but surely our club, or any other for that matter, can’t make that decision for us?

The truth is, none of us know what's going to happen. There are several very promising vaccines in their final trial. One of them is going to get the nod sooner or later.

The inevitability that all those most vulnerable people prioritised for a vaccine will be asked to travel hundreds of miles for it. Even once a vaccine is approved, the process of getting it mass produced and injected into people would be a huge logistical challenge even for the most competent governments. Expect Dido Harding to be seconded in to help.

I trust Professor Sarah Gilbert from the Jenner Institute implicitly. She's got 15 years experience of testing vaccines to induce T cell responses to antigens, so she hasn't just jumped out of the cupboard. Since she joined the race to find a vaccine for covid, she's left home at 4 in the morning, getting home at 8 at night. No wonder she's part of the team with the most promising results. www.jenner.ac.uk/team/sarah-gilbert

I would certainly be more trusting of anything coming from Oxford University than Imperial College London.

Unlike last season, you did know about Covid 19 when you paid this year. If you paid up then seems unreasonable to ask for your money back right now. An extended period on your ticket over to next season might be fair though - so you eventually get the number of games you paid for.

Family member has 2 s/t at Villa, been refunded automatically for first game Prem clubs not on ifollow of course so it's a little different. I also respect the view already expressed that we all bought our tickets with this uncertainty hanging over us, so quite where that leaves us legally I don't really know. I'm pretty chilled, as I say, made my purchase specifically so I would have a better chance of getting to games if we came back with a reduced capacity. Seems I rolled that dice and failed, but it would be interesting to hear the thoughts of the club. I suspect like many clubs they're still digesting the news, and perhaps hoping that with reflection and / or lobbying, they can pursuade government to change their minds on allowing limited numbers back in a covid secure way - after all, 30% capacity would get all season ticket holders in, and whilst it may not make much additional money for the club, it would at least remove the financial chaos associated with having to offer refunds for all matches we've not been able to get to. And don't forget, when many of us signed up, there was a genuine expectation that there would be some opportunity at some stage to attend games, seems that's no longer the case so I wouldn't criticise anyone who wanted and expected a full refund in that circumstance.

I was sent two codes but once I’d logged in with the first it wouldn’t let the same email address be used for the second. I was away so used one on the iPad but the second wouldn’t work then. I did think as the Ifollow subscriptions doesn’t cover the cost of the Missed game (I purchased after early bird so even more) the club need to give iFollow vouchers for home and away matches to compensate....

Considering the social measures in the HofP every MP can't attend. The current process for asking questions is a Ballot to attend and another to ask a question; so if you get past stage one you have another hoop to jump through as well. The fact the question got asked at all is very lucky.

No season ticket here, i live too far away, but things to consider.
1) if everyone had a refund right now it would cripple the club
2) We have all got to dig into our pockets and start watching every game on Ifollow, I know there are some households on here that will mean reducing the revenue, but we have all got to pull together and stop getting our mates around and sharing our stream otherwise there will be no club to support next year.
