I would say the chances of attending another game this season are virtually nil. Things will be getting far worse, not going in the right direction. I do fear refunds won’t be given out for 9 months until the club know for definite fans won’t be able to attend any more games.
I did get a season ticket this season hoping I could secure a seat when crowds were restricted. Probably won’t bother in future unless by some miracle there’s a vaccine.

If the R value comes down then the situation could be reviewed, lets hope so.

How many clubs will now be pushed over the edge and fold?

This is an assumption based on Johnson's statement saying that the new restrictions may be in place for 6 months.
Unless there's a link saying otherwise?

Cannot see there being any refunds - iFollow is being given in lieu of attendance at the ground.
Could be seen as a financial loss for households with multiple season tickets but only using one iFollow passcode to watch the game; but I guess there is nothing to prevent resale of the codes.

The pilots are stopped and the potential to restart from 1st October is paused but not sure we know any more than that right now. Hopefully, reflection will see the sense in proceeding otherwise another six months will kill pretty much everything dead.

I did get a season ticket this season hoping I could secure a seat when crowds were restricted. Probably won’t bother in future unless by some miracle there’s a vaccine. Same, I purchased my season ticket to help the club out in a summer when they really needed the money, and to guarantee myself a seat in the likelihood that crowds returned in a socially distanced manner. I donated the remaining balance of last season to the club but a whole season over £300 is a different story. Surely the club has to offer refunds or at the very least rollover the season tickets to next year. But for now there will be people worrying about their jobs etc so I can afford to be patient. I feel for the club and all lower league clubs but it’s back to the drawing board. Brian and co worked tirelessly and should be commended for the thought and effort that went into the pilot game and the success of it, and it’s just such a shame that the government have reacted in such a knee jerk blanket manner across all sporting events.

A lot will depend on how people behave under the new rules. If all goes well and people do as outlined it may well be that we will see some live games later on. One good thing is that when a return can take place our club will be in a very good position to facilitate this having done an extremely well coordinated pilot already.
The positive feedback from Saturday should not be under estimated.

Cost of season ticket for O/65 - £260
Cost of 23 ifollow streams if free pass not available - £230.
So only £30 and the whole matchday experience lost to me if there are no crowds this season.

This latest development will be extremely worrying for all professional football clubs, ourselves included.
At the moment there is no light at the end of the tunnel and that is really a frightening thought.

Yes, the snooker fans were allowed back for the World Championship Final at The Crucible, Sheffield after a pilot had taken place on the opening day of the tournament before U turn number 1 kicked in.

From the BBC website: "PM Boris Johnson says new Covid restrictions for England could last six months" That's the generally restrictions. Like the pub shutting at 10 pm. It doesn't say anywhere that football will be behind closed doors for 6 months. We need more info before starting threads like this.

In my view, allowing people to be in pubs and restaurants but not football grounds is absolutely bonkers. Saturday at the meadow was way better managed than any number of pubs and restaurants I've been in during the last few months, and no idea what benefit closing at 22:00 will bring other than to encourage people to just go out earlier. People will still crowd in pubs to watch football on TV and staff never do anything to enforce anything in terms of distancing, and how can they with groups of drunk people.
Honestly, I think when the government reflect on all the harm this is doing they'll allow some pilots to return, and certainly sooner than six months. The 1000 in the west stand could easily be another 1000 in the east and 500 each end with plenty of space to keep everyone apart. If pubs and restaurants and work and shopping and parks and beaches can all carry on then sure as hell football can.

What we can already say with absolute certainty is that crowds won't be back by October 1st.

The Forest Green owner, Dale Vince, was interviewed on R5 last week. They were one of the pilots last weekend - but he indicated that no spectators this season would not be a hardship. They had budgeted for no fan income this season - so anything coming through the turnstiles will be a bonus!! Can't see many other clubs having that luxury.

I also predict that the police will be kept pretty busy when the younger element are turfed out of pubs at 22.00, particularly on Friday and Saturday nights. I agree 100% that they could easily allow 3,000 in The Meadow, which is an outdoor area where the virus is said to be less transmissible, certainly compared to a crowded pub.
