One of the reasons being given for stopping fans attending matches is that "there were issues with fans gathering in groups of more than 6 before and at half time"
What did those attending on Saturday witness?

I thought Saturday went really well. Much better managed than every single pub, shop and restaurant I've been in over the past few months. I didn't wear a mask in my seat but noting it was not compulsory that was my choice, but many did. I wore it when I moved from my seat and like others stood outside of the ground at half time. There was only limited crowding and way better than every pub beer garden I've been to or seen recently. There was no crowding for the toilets and this was marshalled anyway and I'd say 80% at least stayed in their seats as requested after the game, leaving block by block.
Bluntly, but if pubs can open and if we're still OK to go to restaurants, then repeating Saturday with all four stands (and so 3000) in the ground ought to be the easiest thing in the world.
Hopefully the slowing down of things is just a knee jerk reaction to the wider virus issues, and that once the government have had time to think they'll come to the same conclusion as above.

A hammer blow by the government, not unexpected but still very unreasonable.

Very well put, but I wouldn't hold my breath that any of the points you've made will cut any ice with this government. They've U turned on pilot schemes twice already.

People blame the advisors, but it's the government that has to balance forecasts with living some sort of normal life. Those two words, common sense, again.
