Apologies if this has been mentioned already on the match thread but did anyone else think the pitch has been reduced in width? I haven't been able to get to a home game for a couple of seasons and hadn't picked up on this watching highlights last year, but my impression yesterday was that there was a lot more green space along both touchlines.
If I'm right, then this seems odd when we have signed Daniels and Tracey, both wingers, and as most people think, the winger role is Whalley's best position.
Maybe it's a Covid measure to increase the distance between the players and fans!

Ricketts has said the pitch was the widest in the league, and has been narrowed to make it more consistent with the other clubs.
I haven’t the inclination to look into league one pitch sizes to ascertain if what he is saying is correct.

I thought it was odd we have just signed a couple of wingers after making the pitch more narrow.
