Its nice to finally have the season up and running again. Gives the moaners and doom merchants a pedestal to preach from.
Heaven knows a few must have been camping at the bit for absolutely ages to get their teeth into a home defeat.
😠😠ðŸ˜

I was going to go into detail about how a home defeat against fellow relegation strugglers is a disappointing result but I can see you're not allowed any constructive criticism, so we go again tomorrow against Newcastle under 21's, up the salop

oh sorry, did you expect us to take your post seriously Sorry my mistake for wanting to discuss the match in the match thread... There's plenty to discuss, so stick around. I do wonder if Cumming's is best used on the right side of a front 3, but then he got the assist with the cross field pass. Having said that, he cut a frustrated figure some time out wide, particularly in the second half. There's a discussion to be had about our best right-back and I expect RSW to be back in that position once everyone is fit and available. We now have 3 out and out wingers at the Club, so interesting to see how they will fit to the system/s. Overall, though there were some encouraging signs and we need to remember we have a few first choice players missing.

Am I the only one who thought Fossey did ok? He seems to be getting some stick, which seems harsh given the shortcomings elsewhere but particularly so for an inexperienced youngster.
I just wonder where the goals will come from if Pyke is a Carlton Morris-type striker and won't score many himself. Whalley is an inconsistent scorer and I don't know whether Cummings will score many playing wide.
I hope it's not going to be a different take on last season. Then we didn't have the wing backs to play 3-5-2. This time I don't know whether we suit 4-3-3.
Early days though; I'm not doom and gloom, just a bit anxious!

I thought Fossey did well all things considered.
In fact, nobody was poor in terms of effort, and overall performance, we've seen a lot, lot worse.
There were individual lapses (their second), but overall the effort was there, we had a go.
In that sense, it's an improvement on last season.

Early days though; I'm not doom and gloom, just a bit anxious! fossey got better as the game went on , his presence in the box with his head was very good, pyke on the other hand didnt do anywhere near enough for me, looking at the comments i must have missed a few things with pyke, i've seen cummings sharper than on saturday too, hopefully he can get back to that. we made 2 mistakes saturday and got punished, hard to tell if thats the way its going to be or whether it was a one off, time will tell, watching newcastle yesterday, now not only was that a bad result they didnt nothing promising, at least we were the best side on the pitch , i just get annoyed when someone comes on wanting to go into detail about fellow relegation strugglers, save your breathe, if you are moaning already just pack in go fishing on a saturday, fickle is an understatment

By all means discuss the match, that's what this board is about after all. The more views and opinions the better. The only comment I would make on your earlier post is how, after 2 games you have both us and Northampton as relegation strugglers? Surely it's a bit too soon to make that call?

From what we saw in the last few games of last season I think Udoh is a bit hard done by in not getting a start. He always seems to up the energy levels when he comes on.

It's a pretty universal opinion with bookmakers and pundits that we'll be down or near the relegation zone, nothing against optimism but just being realistic

We're not at a theatre. Didn't even consider joining in. Luckily after they scored it didn't happen again.
