So yesterday was some tin pot cup final, today is by far a more important final for those who follow whats left of "real"football. The Play Off final to see who gets to play FL football come next year.
Harrogate v Notts County. Who do you want to win? County every time for me, be nice to see them back (& on the first rung of the ladder towards Champions League football for those here with long memories 🤣🤣).
County belong in the FL, i think Harrogate will be another non league club punching above themselves for a few years before heading back down (a la Boston or Kidderminster). Come on County.

Not bothered either way, but ground-wise, I will add Hull to my to-do list, (COVID permitting), but Barrow will be added to the list of not yet done, as would Harrogate.

Nottingham has one of Britain's oldest pubs, Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem.
Harrogate has Betty's Tea Shop.

I have got much more interest in games like this. Harrogate would be a nice away day for Div 2 clubs.

No extra time today apparently. Pens after 90 mins if scores are level.

Notts County, real club with real history. Harrogate, plastic club with a plastic pitch.

Fantastic for whoever goes up. Don't think Harrogate have ever been in the FL, I see they have The Jon Stead playing for them (ageing like a fine wine) and Leeds legend David Batty on their board.
Notts County attempting to get back to where they belong after the last decade of mismanagement. Remember Sven being appointed director of football and bringing in Sol Campbell? Still paying for that one...feel sorry for them given their history

All over 3-1. Harrogate can start ripping up the plastic pitch. Another ground I’ve not been to. Not sure when I can make this one, but would like to

Well done Harrogate! Wanted them to win as County have many fans with a sense of entitlement.

Very watchable game. In a sense i feel sorry for Notts County who were swindled out of promotion to League One by an incompetent referee but there again I also remember the squillions of pounds that Munto were going to invest in them and their supporters giving it the big i am. Above all I remember Lee Hughes.

Barrow and Harrogate promoted to the football league. Who would have envisaged that this time last year?
Great achievement from 2 small clubs from a league boosting the likes of ex FL clubs Notts County, Chesterfield, Yeovil, Stockport County etc...and Wrexham 😅

But will the genteel people of Harrogate want a football League club? Nailsworth wasn't too happy when Forest Green Rovers got there.

Thought Harrogate looked a really decent side and it was a much better game than yesterday's. County played really well in the semi-final but seemed to freeze in the first half today ( we all know about underperforming at Wembley). The lack of a crowd may have helped Harrogate as they would surely have been vastly outnumbered by a County whose average Gate is four times theirs.

CyberInsider got back to me via Twitter (specifically asked him to keep the communications to here, but nevermind) with confirmation that it did, but there's no doubt he was slow off the mark. Starting to think he might not be an insider after all. Harrogate would be a cracking away day if Ricketts leads us to the promised land of League 2.

So with the Cup Final yesterday, this today, the Championship Playoff not until Tuesday and the Trophy not yet played will the players and clubs have a normal length close season if it starts in September?
I think they will all be demanding an Autumn break!!

I think they will all be demanding an Autumn break!! Not sure how managers like Klopp (& Ricketts for that matter) are going to endure playing 2 games most weeks to fit all games into a shortened season when we do finally kick off. Will be really interesting to listen to the constant whine about "too many games".
