Seems underwhelming at first glance. As an untested nineteen year old I can't see him pushing for a starting place so would question the point of signing him.

I wonder where that leaves James Rowland in the pecking order?

That reminds me, anyone heard anything else about the Godfrey returning rumours? Hoover's stopped replying to my DMs. I still think it's unlikely, personally.

I wonder where that leaves James Rowland in the pecking order? Can’t imagine Rowland would be pushing for a first team spot the coming season and sounds like they play different positions... Sean Goss might be one who’s role you’d question after this signing.

High looked good on the Huddersfield Youtube video (admittedly in youth games) - some good surging runs , always looking for the forward pass and a couple of good finishes. Reminded me more of Docherty than of Laurent but could be a good addition to the squad.

Time will tell whether he’s any good, but I would like to see salop try and sign someone tried and tested like Connor Ronan from wolves

Scott High from Huddersfield. Loan. Done deal. Hardly breaking news Posted by Ipswichshrew two hours before your post in the correct place I understand Shrewsbury Town have approached Huddersfield Town over the possible loan signing of Scott High for the coming season. The deal is close to being complete. The midfielder made his Terriers debut in the 4-1 defeat at Millwall. #htafc #bbcfootball

Time will tell whether he’s any good, but I would like to see salop try and sign someone tried and tested like Connor Ronan from wolves Tried and tested players at league one level are highly unlikely to be joining us: Tyrese Campbell - tried and tested at this level, now a Championship level striker Callum Lang and Greg Docherty - tried and tested at this level, now SPL Ryan Giles - not even particularly successful but now on loan in the Championship If we want a good loan player like the above, Godfrey, Henderson, Morris et al it’s always a punt on a relative unknown who’s unproven at league one level.

Hurst really hit the jackpot with this kind of signing. We were spoilt. Unlikely to ever happen again for Hurst or ourselves but its the way forward for us.

A friend of mine said that Wolves want him to go out on loan again maybe it will be to a championship side he made huge impact at Blackpool

Hoover hasn’t replied because you’ve never DM’d me ever, as mentioned elsewhere I’m no longer in the loop regarding comings and goings, other interests have taken over my life nowadays and I don’t think life as a supporter will be the same again for a long, long time

Godfrey returning rumors ? flip me , someone must have been on the Colombian Marching Powder again. Possibly one of the few Norwich players who may well find themselves back in the Premiership . The chances of Godfrey coming back here are about the same as Prince Andrew becoming the Country’s favourite Royal .

I think he was being sarcastic and meant that he still hadn’t heard whether or not the rumours were true about Godfrey coming back to us two summers ago.

I'm surprised there isn't a call for a statue of the happy prince in The Square - seems much more likely than Godfrey returning.

Seems underwhelming at first glance. As an untested nineteen year old I can't see him pushing for a starting place so would question the point of signing him. Is that the first use of "underwhelming" during our new player signing season? More predictable than the first cuckoo of spring.

Not sure what a "ball playing No.6" is. I find these attempts to integrate numbers into player positions a bit silly and unhelpful. Like it or not, the days of numbers 1-11 have gone.

A player none of us has ever seen is obviously rubbish - you know you can't win new signing bingo by providing your own quotes, don't you?

We pay the manager, all of us a little bit when we buy tickets. We soon call for them to go if they get it wrong. But until that, if they think someone should be signed as a good fit for the team then that's their job. Happy to be very pleasantly surprised, especially as, so far, Sam seems to have recruited very well.

It's opinion. He'd be a good signing on a permanent deal, with a three year contract, but as a loan signing I can see his chances to be limited so question the point. According to the info on the thread its seems like a done deal so I hope he proves me wrong and is another Ben Godfrey.
