Points deduction and them dragged back into the relegation battle? 12 point deduction which would put them bottom of the league

Poach Callum Lang off them! it would be nice but can we afford his wages ? Guess we can offer regular first team football on a 2/3 yr deal but with lower wages. Do well and earn big money move down the line.

Poach Callum Lang off them! it would be nice but can we afford his wages ? I think football players may have to wake up to a new reality. Like all of us. I am about to take a voluntary pay-cut. I think a lot of people may be facing similar in the not so distance future, including lower league football players.

I do wonder whether there could be some amnesty put in place during the pandemic. When we are seeing clubs struggle because revenues are severely impacted with playing games behind closed doors. I wouldn't be against that.

Although if it happens to clubs who have spent beyond their means so are in trouble for other reasons than the pandemic I wouldn’t have a lot of sympathy to be honest.
If it’s just due to Coronavirus then I agree but overspending money they didn’t have then no.

I wouldn't be against that. Except Wigan are perhaps using it as a convenience. Championship squad relegated to league 1. Do their players contracts include a relegation clause. Have they overspent to try and stay in the Championship? If an amnesty was offered clubs could use administration as a way to clear debts and start again when with t(e current penalty they might try a bit harder to stay afloat. Administration is an easy option to get back on your feet especially with new owners who are now facing up to football finances at a difficult time. So I would be against such an amnesty as it would be abused by greedy owners plus we could win promotion by default 👍 (Didn't realise they’re pretty safe tHis season so not sure if penalty would be applied this season or next?)

For me however sad it is for a club to go into administration, ultimately it will be down to poor financial management and they should be punished accordingly.
Again without wishing it on to clubs, the financial difficulties of others should benefit a well run club like us.
So let’s go and nab Callum RW, before the administrators decide he’s the next messi.
There will be others and we should be ready

Sure it wont be long before someone comes on here insisting Roland should "splash the cash" and "show some ambition" 😕

Apparently they were taken over only 4 weeks ago Just dawned on me how extraordinary that is - that makes Steve Dale at Bury look like a responsible owner for the long-term! Did they not do thorough due diligence? Did they only pay a pittance so weren't too worried about the finances? Scarcely believable, were it not for the stupidity of so much to do with football finance. Anyway, I like the EFL response - 12 point deduction at the end of the season if they're outside the relegation places, 12 point deduction next season if they're inside them.

Apparently they were taken over only 4 weeks ago Been reading a bit about this on twitter. Whelan sold to a Chinese/ Hong Kong business a couple of years ago. They have now “sold” to another company that is apparently part of the same group, but isn’t listed on the stock exchange. Smacks of a manoeuvre to go into admin without affecting share price, if true

Oh dear, what a shame, gutted for them....NOT...Blackburn Chicken Farmers next please. Cheats the pair of them.
On a serious note, I appreciate that Greater Manchester- South East Lancashire was the cradle of the FL but there are far too many clubs, and not enough supporters in that area once you take away the natural support towards United and City.
More than a coincidence that the last three clubs to crack have been from that area.. Wigan, Bolton and Bury.

I can't do the specific maths, as its difficult to get an exact population for a non-specific area as South-East Lancashire ( not S.W as I stated )but before Bury's demise there where 10 PL/FL teams in the area...United, City, Burnley, Blackburn, Bolton, Wigan, Bury, Rochdale, Oldham and Accrington..far too many
