I suppose Grenada won't be playing either, only our guys are free at the moment Mr Cheney and we could follow their exploits with you for our football fix.

It was the only decision they could make.
I don't see it returning so early in April either. Euro 2020 will surely be postponed next week for a year. I would think the season could be extended until the end of June (when contracts expire) if football is able to return by then.
All major events should be postponed now.

Well, football, golf, cricket and motor racing have all gone. Boxing says it can't operate without a crowd No problems with the Cheltenham Gold Cup, but can't see the Grand National being given the go ahead. And what about the rest of horse racing? I'm watching the Salford v Wigan Rugby League game on Sky tonight, but I reckon that with 5 figure crowds at such games, spectators won't be allowed for too much longer. Catalans v Leeds is already off. Same applies to the Gallagher Premiership Rugby Union. Premier League darts must also be likely to be postponed. World Snooker Championship could be played behind closed doors. Greyhound racing may survive (Channel 175) as no one seems to be at the tracks anyway!

Are Drayton playing tomorrow? NPL games are still on so every chance their game would still be on unless any of their squad (or of their opponents) are effected.

We had posters deriding our loans to Shawbury, Whitchurch, etc. Seems a shrewd move now as they will be the ones getting precious game time under their belts.

Think Sam should give the players 7-10 days off to have a break and refresh for when and if season resumes. No point training daily when no immediate games.
When will we see friendlies being closed doors before April 3rd?

They should cancel the season now and declare it all non and void just to p**s Liverpool off. Liverpool have been outstanding, and deserve to win it, but this would be worth it just to see the moaning scouser!!

Agreed! The euros will be off and if there's time in June (suggestions are 6 weeks would be enough to finish the season) the league will be completed then although maybe the fa cup will be scrapped. However, if it's true that we're 14 weeks off passing the peak then that takes us almost until the end of June. Options might be to tack the end of this season into the start of next, end this season as the standings are now, or expunge it entirely. None are particularly appealing options for a whole host of reasons. Anyone going in the away end at Telford today?

Anyone going to Watch Telford just cos town are off should give there head a wobble We could loan our entire squad to Telford and other non-League teams to keep them match fit until the ban is lifted!

Seems like the 10k Salop run is still going ahead as planned tomorrow- will be interesting to see how well attended it is. Sainsbury’s this morning was manic - had to finish the shop in Home Bargains as Sainsbury’s had simply run out of stuff.

Really dont understand the ban being made only until 4th April. Decisions about this season need to be made now. There will be no more football this season and possibly a delay to the start of next. Make this season null and void and all teams start in the same league next season. Do it now. Make this the start of the close season. Not fair on some clubs but lets all be sensible.

The Premier league have a buffer fund of £1.5bn! Would they use this to support lower league clubs through this - whilst I hope so I somewhat doubt it.

Which makes the decision by our opponents not to change the day so that we could be televised and earn a ‘windfall’ even more mean. Even the £35,000 they very kindly let us keep from ticket sales won’t cover the losses. Thank goodness we are prudent but I fear for some others.

£50,000 a home game when we've 5 home games left = £250,000.
RW's prudent rainy day fund is going to be of immense value here if the rest of the season is cancelled, but hopefully there will be some compensation floating around from somewhere.

I'm sure we'll be fine, not least given the cup money, but also how well run we are, but I'm equally sure that if this if football done until we all start again next season then there will be a lot of pain for a lot of clubs. Not to mention the economic chaos for pubs, restaurants, cinemas, hotels, airline companies etc. surely a huge number of whom simply won't survive the lack of income for so long.

At least every team is losing a similar amount. It might have an effect on transfer fees being paid this year?

In the case of Macclesfield, this loss of revenue might be what finally puts them out of business. If so, that would be convenient, as it would still allow the winners of the National League to join the League. And if Oldham go to the wall, the playoff winner could join too. That's assuming that the National League keep playing their games!
Not sure how they'd sort out League 1 being 1 club short though. And would Bolton start with a 12 point deduction if this season is declared void?
The whole thing is a complete and utter mess. No idea how they'll sort it.
