Had the privilege of a Ryan Air flight last week. Superb levels of non compliance on the outdated and pointless mask rule. People have long had enough, including the staff. Great to see Strange how some like to shout up about non compliance, not wearing it like a badge of honour, "look at me, no need for masks". Good job there weren't any people on there who were over 65, Care home staff, frontline health and social care workers or people in vulnerable groups.

Yes I had that experience on Friday too. Was wonderful to watch, play a taped message saying that passengers were all expected to wear face covering for the whole flight. To which the 75% that hadnt got one one took not one bit of notice. Was probably more like 95% by the end of the flight. Agreed, great to see. Meant to wear one on public transport in Spain, no one wearing them on the airport shuttle buses either.
Strangely I flew to Spain last week on EasyJet - all passengers were requested to wear masks and there was 100% compliance (well I didn't see anyone not wearing a mask) both ways. Also full compliance on the Renfe train we took - son took off his to eat and forgot to put back on. Security guard put him right!!! Yes, apart from the 2 Ryanair flights I mentioned I've done 6 with Easyjet in recent weeks. Sadly they are dragging their heels very much on the issue, they really need to get their act into gear unless they want to lose business to Ryanair. However my experience has been that virtually everyone has been 'wearing' one. That is either wearing one around their chin, or taking it off whilst having food or drink - never realised it can take an hour over a tea or can of coke but, yes they have been 'wearing' them. Service busses do seem quite high on mask wearing over here, but get on an airport shuttle bus and it's completely different.

Another terrible take in my opinion, anyone over 65 isn’t a ticking time bomb to Covid ffs, added to the fact anyone on said flight must’ve been triple vaccinated and bursting with antibodies! Mask theatre at its finest, but it’s being eroded thank god

Can’t wait to get my muzzle back on… 🙄 just have to stuff my gob for a few hours, Covid doesn’t bother people eating or drinking does it

Leave an open packet of crisps on the tray that you fiddle with. It really is a practice art. I'm sure are only doing what they told to do, they wouldnt bother in the slightest if they actually had a choice in the matter. It really is a practice art

Flown with Jet2 months ago and not need a mask, RyanAir some middling mess and sounds like EasyJet are stuck in 2020.

I think it is with most of us already. Time for doctors surgeries and dentists (amongst others) to get back into the real world.

"Time for doctors surgeries and dentists (amongst others) to get back into the real world." i agree ; i have a NHS dentists and they are still working on there backlog and there is a considrable delay for routine appointments and my GP is still not offering face to face appointments without going through a triage system then a phone consultation and if deemed worthy you get a face to face.

The bit I find totally ludicrous is with dentists they insist you are wearing a face mask all the time - except when you have got the dentist close up to your nose and mouth. Just couldnt write that one I couldnt 😀

They don’t want to take the risk and, of course, they haven’t got much choice have they . Im pleased my dentist Always wears a mask . I dont want to be breathing in their contaminated exhalations ,covid or not and I’m sure they don’t want to be breathing in mine. Come on , it’s bloody common sense.

I was talking about ME wearing MY face mask until when I get closest to another person. Then its time to take it off (not that you've got much option). Well it does make me scratch my head at the logistics of it all.

that's have a virus works, I mentioned on here way back, a virus that kills its host eventually evolves to become weaker and allow its host to live normally ps there are millions of people in this country who could die of flu, including myself which is why I have to take a jab every year

I think you'll find its mostly ILL people that attend a doctors surgery. you could say an underlying illness maybe you could explain what world they are living in for us ?

Everybody else in there doesn't. Is it really, honestly, such a hardship? Can understand your disdain on a long flight, though the air on planes is pretty foul anyway - if they work, we probably would have been better off had we always worn a mask as much as possible whilst flying.

There’s plenty of evidence on the internet that cloth face masks and blue paper face masks make next to no difference in reducing the spread of covid. That and the fact Covid is a bad cold at worst for almost everyone now, majority wouldn’t know they have it it’s that impotent now It’s absolutely scandalous visitors still aren’t allowed in hospitals and masks are enforced in some settings. This nonsense has to end
