I don't think our leaders have any idea of the concept of living in a flat or not having the garden. Matt Hancock on Marr show: Coronavirus: Exercise out of the home 'could be banned' if people flout rules Sunbathers, pictured sunbathing two metres apart: "It's not acceptable to sunbath". Sussex Police said two people had been summonsed to attend court after having a barbecue on Hove beach. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-52172035

If they have a garden then they are in breach of the rules. If not, then they do seem to be observing social distancing.

I think the rules are very very straight forward and there isnt one that says it is ok to go out and sunbathe or have a barbecue if you havent got a garden as long as you observe the social distancing. If we all stick to the rules clearly set out we wont be putting others at risk and the rules will be relaxed sooner.

Stafford makes a good point about the living conditions of a lot of people in this country. Particularly in cities. Those same people who are getting berated for sunbathing, might well be on packed public transport tomorrow on their way to work...
When this is all over, it will be interesting to see how much money is poured into the NHS to improve mental health services.

How long can this go on? How is it to be paid for?
Oh, everyone says, the Government will pay. But when will it sink in that when we say ‘the Government’ we mean us? We will pay in heavier taxes, higher prices, lower wages, longer hours, ravaged savings, shrivelled pensions, less freedom of all kinds – for if you think our former liberty will ever fully return, you are mistaken.
Peter Hitchens.

Your allowed to go out for exercise whilst social distancing not sitting on a beach, bench or laying on the ground whether you’ve got a garden or not doesn’t come into it..... simple it couldn’t be clearer ....your talking about something that isn’t covered but the lock down, going out to get away from your home not allowed!

More new cases and deaths than Spain today.
And an interesting stat from Italy:-
"The target of bringing down the reproductive number (R0) to 1 has been reached. Now the goal is to bring it below 1. Earlier in the epidemic, it was as high as 3. This value represents the average number of people to which a single infected person will transmit the virus. An epidemic with a reproductive number below 1 will gradually disappear".

www.cleveland.com/news/2020/04/michigan-now-has-close-to-quadruple-ohios-coronavirus-cases-what-could-be-causing-the-difference.html“There’s a lot of controversy but most of the data I’ve seen is that the physical distancing makes a difference in reducing case and deaths to the tune of about 20 to 60 percent at best,” Salata said. “In my view this is one of the most important things we can do for infection control at this point "CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Michigan now has nearly four times as many coronavirus cases as neighboring Ohio, reaching 14,225 on Saturday while Ohio’s grew to 3,739. As Ohio’s coronavirus cases have inched up, Michigan’s have soared, begging the question why two Midwest states are affected so differently and whether quicker restrictions in Michigan could have mitigated the surge. As of Saturday, Michigan had 540 deaths, Ohio 102." there are some striking difference confirmed cases Michigan 12,744 ohio 3,313 death michigan 479 ohio 91 the graph on the front page of the article grabed my atention with michigan following a uk/ italy / spain spike and Ohio a slow gradsual increase on the seventh day the gap is noticable with nearly 3 to 1 ratio by on the 14th day it is a 4 to 1 ratio of confirmed cases. so you need to ask yourself what is ohio doing differently. with a gradual increase front line services have a much better chance of managing this virus.

North Wales Police #StayHomeSaveLives @nwpolice · "If you are considering visiting this weekend or planning an Easter please note #NorthWales is closed to visitors" welsh police have stepped up patrols , whilst the majority are following the guidance there are still small numbers of people who continue to think it does not apply to them.

it just does not make sense that we are on lockdown and yet flights were allowed in from hot stpots and even more bizarley not sent to quarantine but we all know they will just brush it under the carpet.

Totally agree. A few returning from China were bused up to a quarantine centre on the Wirral by coach drivers wearing no PPE. We then proceeded to wave through numerous individuals returning from Italy to spread the coronavirus throughout the country.

The reason so many ministers are unconvincing at the daily press briefings is that good governance is not part of their mindset. Their fallback position when challenged is bluster, slogans, wild promises and evasion.

www.shropshirestar.com/news/uk-news/2020/04/05/boris-johnson-admitted-to-hospital-as-coronavirus-symptoms-persist/"Boris Johnson has been admitted to hospital for tests as his coronavirus symptoms persist, Downing Street has said. Number 10 said the Prime Minister was taken as a “precautionary step” on the advice of his doctor" "A Number 10 spokesman insisted Mr Johnson remains “in charge of the Government” despite his hospital admission, and he has not handed responsibilities to his de facto deputy Dominic Raab. However, Mr Raab is likely to chair the daily Covid-19 meeting on Monday morning for ministers and officials, which is usually led by the PM.He is understood to be in an NHS hospital in London, where he will stay for “as long as needed”. if he is that ill that he needs a hodpital admission then it seems ilogical that he continues to try and run the country.whilst i am not a fan of Boris i hope he makes a speedy recovery.

Meanwhile Cummings uncle dies of Coronavirus.
Get well soon Boris and partner Carrie who is also in bed with symptoms and, being pregnant, that is not a good situation.

Apologies, it's the Daily Mail again. www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/article-8190311/DR-MAX-PEMBERTON-Prime-Ministers-health-robust-sensible-move.htmlAs the experts are perplexed how some people die and some people just get a sore throat, I feel it's ok to put in my twp penny worth: Don't try to work through the symptoms, being brave, like most do with a cold or flu. Boris seems to have suffered worse than Carrie who had the same symptoms. As a pregnant women, I expect as soon as she felt a little unwell she rested up and looked after herself. Be sensible about social distancing and, if you have the slightest symptoms be sensible, self isolate and take it very, very, easy. I await the world's experts disproving all that, but it sounds right to me.
