LetchworthShrew linked to an interesting Independent article on the FA Cup's future on the Liverpool thread and I noticed a Callum Lang interview at the side of that.
This part caught my eye:
His season-long loan at Shrewsbury has been hampered by a metatarsal injury which sidelined him for three months, returning in early January, but he is looking to take further steps under Sam Ricketts, who has his own ideas for Lang’s development.
“This is only my @rseessment but I think he’s very similar to Diogo Jota at Wolves,” said Ricketts, who has encouraged Lang to study videos of the Portugal forward.
“He can play in a top two or drop into a three, he can go wide. He’s a goalscorer but he’s quick. They’re very, very similar players. Not big in height, in stature, but a nuisance to play against. Langy is very similar.”
We can perhaps expect to see Lang playing more flexibly than as the lone striker. That could be good.

Sam should see if we could sign him up before singing his praises from the rooftops. Perhaps we already tried?

Wouldn’t be surprised to see this loan move become a permanent deal before the weekend...SR seems to rate him highly, and Lang sounds as if he’s enjoying being part of the team.

But Wigan no longer get Premiership parachute payments and are not averaging much above 10k....if we offered around 400k we would get him.
