Expect to be defeated and hope to be surprised.

BRISTOL CITY MANAGERS VIEW
“We know the prize,” Johnson said. “We want it for the fans, we want to be successful for the fans.
“We’re well rested and we know the prize. Obviously Shrewsbury know the prize as well and the boys want to compete to pit their wits against one of, if not the best side in the world.”
“We’re under no illusions how difficult it will be. It’s a heavy pitch and we’ve got to be at it from the start but we’re looking forward to it though.
“We will try our very best, I can assure everyone we’ll be taking it very seriously and we need to be better than we were in the home game.”
To date, over 1,300 tickets have been sold for the fixture.

I would expect nothing else I can imagine the Bristol chairman has said one thing to the manager play whatever side you side, but make sure you win

The Bristol City fans forum predict that Liverpools first defeat of the season will come against them in the fourth round of the FA Cup. Nothing like being confident. Think tonights weather will have a say in that.

Have you seen Facebook page of STFC already arguing why they should be a priority for Liverpool tickets, and already talking about how the game should be played... both sets of fans seem to already taken for granted they are through..

I think the real question needs to be is anyone going to cry tomorrow and throw teddies about if we don't beat higher league opposition ? Nah, leave that for after the Liverpool game...👍

Any streams available for those who cannot make the game please? Hope so!! Shrewsbury Town - Bristol City International Coverage
So it is being shown live someplace and so hoping that the same place I was able to view the first game should be showing this one as well. Fingers crossed anyhow...

That said, they're strong favourites tonight.

Hope we give our selves a chance tonight and have a go,would hate to sit behind the ball all game and get done by a late set piece with no time to reply.

I should know cos Brian Cn said I was way to high when I suggested it was worth 500k to us.. Stuill 300-400k would be decent.

with the weather been so blusterly i hope we try to keep it on the ground and not go for the long ball / kick and hope approach.

Sorry miss red your post, though you were talking that money for us!!!
Also Brian pointed out all ticket sales incur VAT, and for us the average price of ticket sales with cops press etc for a game like liverpool would like be around £15-£16 quid. Bristl might be a tad higher but not £25 in all likely hood.

I am looking forward to a thud and blunder cup-tie, plenty of misplaced passes, wildly over hit set pieces, bloody awful crosses, mishandled shots/crosses and shots zinging over the stands........and that'll just be the warm up!

The only good thing about the weather is the wind is forecast to drop a bit but the rain isn't due to stop until after full time and the pitch is surely going to be heavy. Tranmere's replay tonight has been rained off.
I know he took stick for it but Ricketts was right to say the conditions weren't good on Saturday. It isn't an excuse for not winning but it is some justification for a low quality match and it affected both teams. A cup tie might be a bit different, although high excitement is more likely than high quality.
Good chance of a mistake deciding this one. We're the underdogs again but we've done this before.
