Much as I wouldn't like to lose Josh Laurent, I wouldn't stand in his way if Stoke offered £4million.

I'd rather get a reasonable sum for Norburn in Jan.

"Sam Ricketts has asked for patience as Shrewsbury Town look for the two or three 'unique' players to improve them in this month's transfer window."
"It is believed there will be at least one other departure from Town this window."

What about the Shop? No news on whether his contract will be extended, could that be the one departure?

Almost certain he won't sign a new contract for us if Championship Clubs are interested in signing him. He's over 24, so if he runs out of contract then he'll go for nothing. Realistically, we have to consider offers for him.

Lewis just confirmed on Twitter we have no interest in signing Danny Rowe...further updates expected shortly so something is happening whether it be in or out.

Looks like Scunny will slither in for John-Lewis.

The only players I’d be truly gutted if we lost this window are Pierre and Ebanks-Landell, possibly Norburn. Everyone else is replaceable imo, either through what we’ve already got or by going back into the market.

I’ve been impressed by Laurent but I don’t think he’s championship standard yet.

Swap him for a certain Ginger Perlo who’s been spending much of his time warming the Stoke bench !! Love to see him back if we could ever afford him again but, while Woods is one of my all time favourite Salop players, he's not the type of creative, attacking midfielder we need now - and we need that type far more than we need a new striker. Laurent has the potential to go further than any of our other midfielders but it sounds like he might be looking to do that elsewhere.

So we’ve opened up talks with Laurent over a new contract? Hardly going to sign now is he amid interest and imminent bids from championship clubs? Why leave it until Jan to open talks anyway...it’s too late surely?

Would like us to get Beckles, Laurent, and Walker given extensions to their deals - could see Beckles and Laurent leaving for free at the end of the season otherwise. This

If we don't we haven't learnt a thing from Brown, Rodman and Abu.... We can, and probably have offered them new deals, just as we did with the ones you mentioned, but any agent worth his salt would tell them to wait and see if a better offer comes up. That being the case, the club are powerless until the player and agent make a decision. Just another stick for some posters to beat the club with.

"Be patient" whilst Sam finally gets round to having a look at who might be available.
Isn't that what he should have spent November/December doing? By the end of Jan, if we haven't improved the chance of a run at the play offs is gone. Then you're looking at our better players like Pierre, Williams etc walking too in the summer (if they're not looking to move already).
Seems that Sam's transfer game is like his football; slow and ponderous.

Seems that Sam's transfer game is like his football; slow and ponderous. It does seem that quite a number of League 1 Clubs have already recruited new players, whilst one third into the transfer window we've not even had a loan come in. Meanwhile, the pool of possible signings continues to reduce as other Clubs bring in players.
