So according to Mr Robins, we kicked his team off the pitch !!
Even more startling, apparently a Salop player told Coventry players thats what we were going to do before kick off
I think that’s a pretty good bit of mind games from Mr Ricketts 👍👍

The best thing to do is to ignore the poisoned little f.ckstick. I would love it if Coventry and the bloody gobs**tes at Sunderland spend season after season in League 1 . Didn’t Mowbray come out with the same guff when he was at Coventry . Boils my p**s .

Just watching the L1 highlights on Quest and not sure if anyone saw Accrington against Pompey, apart from Pompey getting a good shafting, they only had about 200 away fans. Another one of those "big" clubs who perhaps are not as big as they think they are, take note Coventry.

On the 10 minute mark I wondered what was in store from the ref when he made our wall go back less than nine yards for a free kick. But I needn't have worried: he let Norburn off the hook and stopped play when a Coventry player was about to pull the trigger.
I was alarmed by Goss' poor form in the first half. He was a yard off the pace and Golbourne had to work hard to keep things together on that side.
Ricketts made two good substitutions and the winning goal was a good move from open play and was a joy to see. Just under 6,000 Town fans. That is good to see too. Understandably quiet in the first half but really got behind the players in the second when they showed more purpose.

great 3 points today, not fully deserved I thought but it makes up for a few games where we didn't get what we deserved
silly free kick led to their first goal, some wasted chances from them kept it at 0-1, good battling got it back to 1-1, and a great finish won the game, I thought the final 11 would make a good starting 11 for the next game

Terrible first half, both tactically and in application from many of the 11 out there. Ricketts isn’t wrong to point out that our back 3 & deepness limited Coventry to one bit of quality, though.
Thankfully roles reversed 2nd half, the substitutions were excellent & we found a new belief, a new intent & a lot more energy & Coventry lost theirs. Norburn was lucky to stay on, Goss was rightfully taken off & Whalley and Giles were excellent.
Always a good to win when a draw probably fair. Last minute winners are the sweetest. Up the Town - struggling to believe that a team so inept so often in an attacking sense are daring us to dream of the playoffs just before Christmas but in fairness that 2nd half showed again that they are capable in BOTH thirds. May as well get carried away until we’re bang average mid table again next week eh.

Cov look like they are set for a bike ride with that kit... I think it’s great - a link to their city’s cultural history. Thoughtful, imaginative choice & much better than cobbling together the random away kits most clubs end up with.

Yeah, I know the reasons behind it (I think there was a post on B&A some time past) but I just don't like it. Looks like some kit from a cycling team to me...👍

I thought we did OK in the first half, I thought we had a fair bit of the ball, we were getting forward and getting plenty of crosses into their box. We just weren't able to find a blue shirt and at times it just wasn't falling for us. It was the first half performance that had me thinking we were more than in it and that we could get something from the game.

So we're just coming to the arse end of a run of games against sides sat in the top half of the table and its not looking too shabby. Two really tough games ahead against Blackpool and Rotherham but then hopefully things becoming a little easier against the likes of Bolton (x2), Tranmere and Lincoln. Since Gillingham we've been going up against sides who will be at least thinking of a play off spot and its 3 wins, the one draw and two lost (and its not as if we were too far off in those two games). Think there are reasons to be optimistic. We're looking well placed at the minute; we've beaten some decent sides, we're just the three points from the play offs and we're in with a chance in each and every game we play. Not going to predict anything and suggest we will be troubling the play offs but when you look to how things are going, can't see any reason why we can't. Said we'd learn a fair bit about the side in this current run of games and I think we have done. Football ain't great at times but we're doing OK.👍

Norburn was maybe lucky to stay on, but that's the second week (it happened at Oxford) when the opposition players surrounded the ref trying to get Norburn sent off. Our lads probably do it as well. Don't like it at all ..... just leave it to the ref. What goes around comes around.

I was alarmed by Goss' poor form in the first half. He was a yard off the pace and Golbourne had to work hard to keep things together on that side. That's extremely generous! He had a shocker yesterday and Laurent was a much better option in the centre of midfield in the second half, the same change that was made when Goss was equally awful against Bradford at the Meadow recently. Goss shouldn't be anything other than a bench warmer at the moment, his performances warrant no more.

Something that hasn't been mentioned about the game yesterday. Should O'Leary have done better with the Coventry goal? The header was well directed but there was little pace on the ball, it almost went in in slow motion, was he put off by the defender on the post perhaps?

A little harsh, as the ball did bounce just in front of him. Far more fault lies with Goss, who fails to track their number 8. For some reason he lets him go, then waves an arm at his defence, presumably trying to alert them to the danger. www.skysports.com/watch/video/sports/football/competitions/league-one/11886854/shrewsbury-2-1-coventry

I'd like Pilch to comment on this as a former ballerina between the sticks but it seemed to me that O'Leary's weight distribution on his feet may have been wrong and so he couldn't push off decisively. At the match I thought he was unsighted but the highlights suggest that he just couldn't dive far enough.

They're coming Juan after the udder. Portsmouth, Sunderland and now Coventry. Moaning because we didn't let them win. Complaining about us and ignoring their own shortcomings.
Coventry City.....s**t fans no ground.

Highlights made me think he thought defender would clear it

At the match I thought he was unsighted but the highlights suggest that he just couldn't dive far enough. I think his weight distribution was preparing for the ball to go towards the other corner. From his starting position, by the time he had adjusted to that, he was always going to struggle to get across to the far post. What disappointed me was that Love was left marking a striker in the 6 yard box - surely one of our three giant centre backs should have taken charge of that situation.

At the match I thought he was unsighted but the highlights suggest that he just couldn't dive far enough. have just studied the goal and can only say it was an amazing cross, and perfect header when a ball is headed into the ground the keeper has the added problem of not being able to judge where to meet the ball as well as a 'normal' shot/header direct at goal ironically this was the type of effort that Arnold might have got his long arms to, but he certainly wouldn't have come out to collect that 96th minute hoof into the box we are much better off this season with Max & Paddy to pick from ;-) in hindsight ,this might be a training ground drill that is not done but is required, lets call it " the bouncing bomb drill "
