We've started brightly, going forward with a bit of purpose and a couple of half chances.
Me and my nephew are playing a drinking game where we drink every time the commentator mentions one of our players used to play for Man United. Needless to say, I'm pretty drunk already as a result.

Had meself checking I had the right stream during the first 10 minutes or so. We really did look good. More even now.

Udoh has lead the line very well so fast, Giles also getting a lot of the ball and looking a threat

Darn it. Better of the play but done by a set piece. Typical.

Ebanks-Landell should have done better to defend that cross. It was a good header though, no chance for Murphy.

that's what happens when you have an old man in goal, they watch the ball, know what to do, when to do it, and suddenly realise they are no longer capable so just keep watching it

But in his defence, it was a really good header right in the top corner. Not sure he could really be expected to save that one.

Two excellent saves in quick succession from Murphy to keep Town in the tie.

sounds like it's been all Bristol since the goal. Half time needed.

Need Whalley on second half to try and stretch them down the right like Giles has been doing down the left.

This formation works if you’re playing for a draw. Now we have to change it. By the time Giles or Laurent get up to support udoh, they’re knackered cos they’ve just had to sprint half the length of the pitch. Need to get a second striker on. How long will Ricketts leave it... before injury time?

Yeah, the home side coming into it as the half progressed. The goal really gave them a lift. We're still in it though; getting a fair bit of possession but as is the norm, hardly creating any real decent chances.

Strange first half. Started really well and created a few half chances but could easily be 3-0 down! City don't look to comfortable to me and if we can keep calm in front of goal then we have a chance.

First half hour was about as bright as I've seen us play in an attacking sense this season, with Udoh leading the line well and Giles causing problems down the left. Laurent's struggled to have the same impact on the right, and I'd agree that it would be worth getting Whalley on fairly early to try and stretch it.

I haven’t gone much this season for several reasons but always listen on the radio.
From listening it always sounds like we have a really good patch, never capitalise on it then the game goes stale, boring and we concede! Chaps on Radio Shrops seem to say every week that we’ve had the better of the play but we never seem to make the most of it.
Do they overhype our performance on the radio or are we actually playing well? And why aren’t we getting ahead in games when we’re on top? Seems to be the same every week, have a good patch, don’t score in that patch, concede then the game becomes numb and predictably boring. Why can’t we make these good spells of play last longer and why aren’t we scoring within these spells!

A decent start, but then same old same old. Not enough pace or creativity, which means endless dithering and sideways balls while City regain their shape. What we'd give right now for some decent attacking midfield options.

Bristol clearly struggled to get going in the first half hour or so and we looked the better side but that's the thing, we don't score...so whilst they had a poor start and we looked the better it means jack if we can't score goals. And we can't. Accept when we can...
