The game comes during a busy period of fixtures for City and with them doing so well there is a good chance they will field a weakened team and not take it too seriously. Still a good chance for town to go through to the next round and get that plum tie. Also hoping no game on New Years Day could also work in our favour.

I'm hoping Coventry's replay against Ipswich tonight is played in high winds, heavy rain and on an energy sapping pitch. Even better if it goes to extra time. That'd be handy for Saturday's game.

All Ticket 🎫!! Why ? I REALLY did wonder that myself. Are we really going to be such a big draw that all seats are going to be sold prior to the day. I really think not.

A 0-4 defeat at home for Bristol City today, and a straight red card for Ashley Williams which rules him out of the game on Saturday. That's five defeats in six for them now which has seen them slip from 5th to 11th since the draw was made.

Suspensions for straight red cards are not competition specific.

Suspensions for straight red cards are not competition specific. Fair enough. I didn't realise it was a straight red.

City have had a poor run since the FA Cup draw was made. Obviously the players have taken their eye off the ball in the league with the big game against town on their minds. Before that however they were doing really well and to sack the Manager because of this poor mini run seems a bit extreme. Difficult to know how it will affect the City players on Saturday. Unlikely a new manager will be in place by then.

Has Johnson been sacked Sorry may have got that wrong. He was given a red card after Brentford game had ended but that was from the ref and not the chairman.

Not really a false result when it's their fifth defeat in six games.

Special guests at the game will be two of towns ex keepers, Mike Gibson and Bob Tooze. Mike Gibson went to Bristol City and became one of their best keepers. We took Bob Tooze from City and he did ok for us for a short time if I remember right. Certainly remember Mike Gibson who was probably one of the first of the long line of great town keepers.

Bob Wardle was another Town goalkeeper with links to Bristol City.

So Goss, Giles and Murphy in. Edwards, Whalley and O'Leary (unavoidably) out.
Fejiri not even on the bench.

If anybody is interested, I might be able to provide a not quite legal website for television coverage of today's game! I have my finger in a few pies and I will let you know if any start broadcasting at 12:30.
