I was expecting it to be around the £180 mark if i'm honest, certainly no more than £192 which would make it £16 a game.

£175 is the price they needed to make it tempting

Didn’t renew my season ticket for the first time in 20 years. Haven’t been to a home game all season and won’t be tempted by this. I doubt I’m very much alone.

I’ve been a fan for 50 plus years and a season ticket holder for the last 10. Despite that I’ve not been since the Fleetwood game, I can’t argue with the league position and appreciate that there has been a couple of decent performances, but I just don’t like our style of play. Will no doubt watch a couple of games in the new year but if this is what it’s going to be like I won’t be renewing.

www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/50722548 Newcastle offer half season tickets for free.. Season ticket holders get a free half season ticket to gift to somebody. Wonder if this came up in our marketing meeting when they decided the prices of ours?

Wonder if this came up in our marketing meeting when they decided the prices of ours? this is the club that lets 1000s of fans trapse home in dark dangerous dirty wet conditions, just yards from the ground the plan they came up with was knocking 50p off the cost of a game if you attend every one after xmas I mean, what are we waiting for with an offer like that

My last season as season ticket holder, next time round will be a fan card I’m also considering not renewing for next season, but purely because I’m missing so many home games this season to the point where I’m wondering if it’s still worth the investment, and I usually watch midweek games on ifollow now rather than make the usual trek up the A49, guess the fact I have my seat reserved all season is what keeping me renewing at the moment.

So a jump from £15.83 a match to £17.72 a match (12% rise) far far beyond the rise of inflation, poor show from STFC on the last 2 years who are pricing people out of a perfect Christmas gift.

You do have to admire their consistency over the years if only it was the same in front of goal

When you compare our ‘style of play’ then and now it’s ‘just like watching Brazil’ now..... Surprised you lasted 50 years if your support is dependant on our style of play

Wonder if this came up in our marketing meeting when they decided the prices of ours? The only reason he's doing that is because the 10,000 empty protest seats are ruining his brands image and losing him more. Don't worry, he'd never do anything for the fans, it's all personal gain.

We are a well run club and have achieved that by the people in charge being sensible. Dont think we can really argue too much with any decisions they make. The die hard fans of clubs like Bury and Macclesfield would probably pay double if it meant having a solvent club like ours.

Surprised you lasted 50 years if your support is dependant on our style of play We have literally not played a consistent attacking entertaining style of football sine maybe under Turner in league 2! Turner in league one was a jumble of loan players and changing styles. Jackson era was rubbish. Mellon first season was great and could be argued to have been front football football, but he got negative in league 1 and cost him in the end. Hurst had his pragmatic approach too in first half season (442 backs to basics) and the almost promotion season to an extent. Hurst gave us the best season for a generation to be fair but it was never all out attack and, like Ricketts, was built on solid defense but Hurst had much more attacking threat to be fair on the counter. Askey was well, Askey, bloody awful and Ricketts safety first approach is grinding out better results now but not entertaining... If you support a team because you want a certain style then you can support Spurs or West Ham who are obsessed with that sort of thing... For me STFC identity is to be hard, gritty, strong and steadfast. That's kinda what defines us as a club not free flowing super impressive attacking play as its rarly been the case for many years.

Playing in the style of Mr Ricketts requires a strong striker who can hold the ball up and bring others into play.
At Oxford on Saturday we saw all too clearly the shortcomings of Mr O as he was unable to retain the ball and too easily pushed off possession. In this role Mr Cummings is not really any better. Callum Laing is not the answer either
However if we could get the equivalent of Carlton Morris up front we might see an improvement in our goal scoring.
I am hoping January could deliver such a player and if so we could have a chance of finishing in the playoffs.

He was the answer for Ricketts for sure BUT was awful and realized it quick and got out of dodge. We cant rely on the Shop being the guy either, we have been there and seen it fail to work. Agree with you, power house type required, tall and with a decent touch. And preferably for me, some league one experience.

If you'd have bought a season ticket for Wrexham you'd be gutted. End of September... Those who bought a Half Season Ticket for the start of the season must be gutted.
Foookin' GUTTED!
It's difficult to give away your season ticket when you're on holiday.
