An absolute car crash of a game so far, mostly just absolute chaos. Pace has dropped a little and Rovers coming back into it with a little more of the ball.
Would take a point!

Bugger me...
You know they've had an awful lot run for them today, Bristol.

That looked like another pen to me. Pushed him in the back!! Looked a little soft to me. Anyone take a point right now?! Yes.

It's really difficult to understand how our defence can be mostly so good but yet put in performances like those against Rotherham, Ipswich, Southend, Fleetwood and today.

Nice that he didn't celebrate, shocking defending again though.

I hope that Sam has all the defenders back in for extra training tomorrow....that was a shocking defensive display today.

Feel a bit hard done by there. Appreciate we were our own worst enemies at times but we most certainly deserved a point out of that. Rum.

Whether he was claiming the corner or the pen I'm not sure but that was the chance to grab the draw. And other than that, not a lot when we were trying to get the fourth from what I recall. I think we struggled when looking to create with the side we finished with...

Not sure what to say really. Other than for maybe 15 mins in the 2nd half before and just after we equalised Town never really had control of the game. It was an utterly atrocious decision not to give a penalty and who knows what difference that might have made but you can't defend the way we did today and make the mistakes me made today and expect to get anything from a game. Really, really sloppy from town at the back. There was no shape and we looked far from the solid unit we have. Rovers looked like scoring every time they came forward. Murphy made an absolute howler just after half time and at that point I thought it was game over. Credit to town, they upped the intensity and for a short period had Rovers absolutely rocking, it looked for all the world like Town would go on and win, but slowly we found ourselves on the back foot and one more howler and that was it. Edward's really shlould have scored from the edge of the six yard box in stoppage time.
I suppose it's positive we've scored three goals after our recent struggles, and that the midfield have pitched in is excellent, but Cummings looked a long way off the game and Fej did little to suggest he's discovering his sharpness from last season. Credit to Lennel for his rehabilitation, and I doubt anyone on here would begrudge him a return after such a horrific injury, but it says it all when he's our option from the bench.
Pretty clear also that that the inconsistentcy and lack of goals in this team mean mid table is likely where we'll finish so here's hoping for a decent run in one or both of the cups.

Taxi for Joe Murphy and the ref can share the taxi fare! The keeper made one mistake and you order a taxi. The three central defenders were absolutely dreadful but no taxi requested. Odd.

Defence were poor today but that was a howler from Murphy. If you're 2nd choice and you do something like that you're not starting the next game if no.1 is back from injury...

He saved a penalty against Posh and made a vital save at Bradford to keep us in the game. The joys of being a keeper!!

it is strange that the same defenders can be so consistent and then have a number of games were they all go walkabout and seem incapabale of doing the basics. town desreve some credit to get back in the game but then manage to throw it away.
no idea what the ref thought he was doing but he can have the worst ref award.

I didn’t think we played badly. Controlled most of the second half and obviously should have had the penalty in the first half.
The worst refereeing performance I’ve ever seen. It was incredible. Fell for all the theatrical dives when they were running down the clock as well.
Beckles had a poor game. Cummins did as well, he’s not strong or physical enough to be a lone striker.
Norburn and Laurent both had good games. Fejiri and Giles both did well when they came on as well.

Well today is the final straw for me with this such negative football. 3-1 down, do well to get back to 3-3 but when we should have the momentum behind us all we do is sit back and yes... right on cue Rovers score and win the game. I don’t want Ricketts to go but I’m just fed up and angry with his mindset today and generally since he came in, it seems like we have to be 2 goals down to start giving it a go. Yes we are Shrewsbury I don’t expect free flowing attacking football for 90 mins. Not sitting back at home to the likes of Rochdale, Burton, Gillingham and Bristol Rovers would be a start.
Does Ricketts believe in his attacking players?
The defence isn’t good as people think it is... they’ve been shocking against Rotherham, Ipswich, Southend, Fleetwood and now Bristol Rovers. O’Leary, Okenabirhie, Giles and Ebanks-Landell in for the next game with Murphy, Thompson, Golbourne and Beckles making way.

Shrewsbury Town v Bristol Rovers Referee - GRAHAM SALISBURY Assistants - Craig Taylor and David Hunt Fourth Official : Gary Hilton www.soccerbase.com/referees/referee.sd?referee_id=565This referee has been on the list for so long that he was in charge of our 3-3 draw away against Wrexham in 2003 when they were still in the League! Blimey! He can’t be far off retirement age now then. After watching that today I wish he had already retired!

A very cruel 4 3 defeat that was, with a draw a much fairer outcome. Sadly Town gave away some absolutely awful goals & Bristol Rovers were a very decent outfit who weren’t going to pass up the freebies.
Our defence is not always going to be a slick, immovable machine & that has concerned me given our lack of attacking ability but in actual fact we had plenty of attacking answers, just sadly not enough to match our defensive mistakes on this particular afternoon. Therefore I’m no more excited nor concerned than I was prior to the match & quite enjoyed the full throttle football between calamities given the calamities have so far been a 1 in 10 occurrence rather than a theme.
I do wish Thompson assisted rather than try to fall though, but I could be completely off the mark saying that. No doubt the referee completely lost the plot from thereon in.
Good cameos from Giles and Fejiri, the latter offering far more than Cummings managed today.
