11th v 10th on Saturday with both teams in decent form, although like Town most of Bristol Rovers recent games have been in cup competitions. There are a few links between the clubs to add a bit more interest. Graham Coughlan in charge at Bristol Rovers and Abu Ogogo and Alex Rodman in their side/squad. Two from the red side of Bristol in the Town side/squad in Scott Golbourne and Max O'Leary. Some interviews ahead of the game. Sam Ricketts. www.shrewsburytown.com/news/2019/november/sam-ricketts-pre-bristol-rovers/" They're a hard-working team with some good players. They've got one of the stand out forwards since he signed with them in January. Clarke-Harris has scored a number of goals and some very impressive goals as well, and they have a mean defence as well" Scott Golbourne. www.shrewsburytown.com/news/2019/november/scott-golbourne-pre-bristol-rovers/" It means a lot to me to beat Bristol Rovers, I always enjoy playing against them, obviously being from the red side of the city. There's a bit of pressure as well, a few family members won't be happy if we don't take 3 points as it's a good opportunity to beat Bristol Rovers so I'm very much looking forward to it." www.shropshirestar.com/sport/football/shrewsbury-town-fc/2019/11/22/shrewsbury-boss-sam-ricketts-happy-to-have-tough-choices/" Ricketts is in the unenviable position of deciding whether to stick with impressive stand-in goalkeeper Joe Murphy or allow Max O’Leary back between the sticks, while all four towering centre-halves are vying for a back three role.
“It’s not easy. They are not easy decisions,” admitted Ricketts. “But you’d rather these decisions than the other way around. (Aaron) Pierre didn’t play the other night but he’s still driving the players on in the dressing room, in the warm-up, during and after the game as well." " Midfielder Sean Goss and striker Daniel Udoh are not yet fit to feature."

Always look forward to this game because my Owd Mon was a Gashead. He was Brizzle born and bred but met my mum at RAF Shawbury in the late 50’s. The 2007 play off final at Wembley was one of the last games we went to together so although I’m 100% wanting a Town win tomorrow I’ll also have a slight soft spot for The Gas.

Don't mind the Gas even though some of their mob chased me through the Abbey in the late 70's when I was a young wannabe. Always remember they were a good bunch in the play off final at Wembley and apart from tomorrow good luck to them.

I was born Saturday November 8th 1980. Town were at home to Bristol Rovers. Beat them 2-0 I think. My wife's waters have just broken so today could be a lovely bit symmetry. 2-0 would be nice too!

league table position with rovers one position above us , whilst the form table has town on fifth position and rovers on ninth .town poor goal scoring record this season is well know but rovers have only scored six goals more. so a mid table battle, weather forecast a light drizzle through the game. a win today would help consolidate a mid table position

As Roy Keane always said, "There's no friends on the football field. Treat it like your going to war with them." So **** the Gas! 1-0 Salop win

Makes it all the more valuable when you win graciously. The Wembley defeat to them showed that on there part, whereas Gillingham did it the no class, no respect, way.

No Clarke-Harris for Bristol Rovers. Ogogo starts, Rodman on the bench.

If we win today (and its a big if mind) then we should expect to be around 7th, 8th in the table I reckon. Come on Town!!

Hmmm, 4 centre midfiders and Cummings effectively. Who are expecting to provide the support up front? Thompson maybe? Or are we literally playing 4 across the middle? The old diamond midfield from last year maybe?
Not sold on this line up from an attacking perspective, not too gutted to miss this one as I expect we're going for the tight 1 0 again.
Not that I care too much though; 3 points is 3 points ultimately.

The old diamond midfield from last year maybe? It's the same 3-4-3 as used for the last few games with Thompson and Edwards playing just behind Cummings today.

Not been to either of the cup games to be fair (or paid much attention). Will be interesting to see if this deliver a a result against third tier opposition.

1-0 Down. Sloppy play to give away an unnecessary corner and then easily beaten in the air from the resulting set piece.

Well that was easy. Corner floated in and their lad rose above everyone else pretty much unchallenged and we're down 1-0.

Far too easy - very uncharacteristic defending. We looked ponderous at the back before then too.

Not that he didn't go down when perhaps he may have continued but it is very, very clear that their lad looked to pull him back. Superb run and hopefully we'll see more of that today!! I think Bristol got away with one there. Yep. Thats a pen. Yet no pen and we've had three yellows. Our lads need to go down whenever they get the chance, suspect the ref might try to make up for that.

Absolute joke.
How are the referees so incompetent at this level.
