Poor performance, how much is down to Ricketts's cautious safety first approach I'm not sure. Not been impressed with his coaching and tactics so far. 1-0 down at home to a rubbish team and we consistently had 11 players in the penalty box for their corners. They scored from a penalty , they attacked with 4 men several times so we had to deal with it and pretty much most teams bring everyone back for corners these days Perhaps booing more would help Never booded a town team in my 50 years watching. Never will. most opponents at the Meadow have left players up at corners, including Gillingham

how I saw it firstly a big boo to the boo boys youre about as pathetic as Bulgarian fans, what was you expecting ? another 7-0 maybe ? Sustained and co-ordinated racist chanting and booing is now "about" equivalent to some mild booing.

Bulgaria fans - Sustained and co-ordinated racist chanting Town fans - A mild "boo" at half time after a very poor first half
Pilch - Apparently town fans are about as pathetic as Bulgaria fans.
You couldn't make it up, you really couldn't. Has to be up there with one of the worst posts this year and i've seen a few.

...... the flood gates would open!!! Don’t I will be there on Saturday! We’ve relocated to Yorkshire and it will be a long journey just to see annihilation. Your report sounds much the radio so you have my sympathies. However, I see from JT that you all enjoyed a good gossip! So you've moved from God's Own County to a place that the locals mistake for God's Own County! Absolutely but I do return for home games on Saturday and hopefully once we are sorted midweek as well. I will also return to visit old friends and neighbours.

Thanks. We are in Wakefield and I don’t think Howarth is that far away. It’s on the list to revisit.

No chance don’t understand that strange game!
As for the language - I’m having trouble understanding the very broad accents some people have but I’ll get there.

The language barrier is fairly easy to break down, just don't use the word "the'! E.g. 'Off down pub for pint, thou coming", or "what hell referee" or "where eck have you been?" They also do the "Yorkshire Salute"! Whenever the national anthem is played, stand up and hold a pint of bitter next to your club badge!

It really is a great game, give it a go. Get yeeself down Trinity. As for the rules, at the end of the day you've five tackles to get the ball over the try line. Simples. Off on a tangent here but the one thing that grates with me with regards to League (as I am a big fan) is that they've never tried to get some club up and running in the midlands. Anyhow, hope you do give it a go...👍

To be fair I have no idea whether they have looked into it already and have realized that its a no-go but somewhere like Stoke, say. Not far from the heartlands, a decent size town, a decent stadium, nothing else (as far as I am aware) going on during the summer. Although of course it has to be reciprocal, perhaps no one in the midlands has shown an interest. I'm thinking back here to their efforts to expand the game elsewhere (London, Wales), I do wonder whether they have even considered the midlands.

No coincidence that things slightly improved after Edwards (33) and Whalley (32) had been brought on then! I note that SR is claiming that the team is still coming together after 14 games. I must admit I do wonder how other teams seem to cope, as most have a number of personnel changes too. That plus injuries (we do seem to have a lot of those) and players not being able to last 90 minutes suggests it will be the other side of Xmas before we are anything like approaching the finished article. And then any January signings have to be given a period of time to adapt/get match fit. "We’re not going to be right all the time and we’re still newly coming together. We’re still getting used to being the team that will dominate the ball and have to break teams down". “That’s different and probably the hardest thing to do. It’s something we’ve not worked on as much".

Thank you all for your points about Yorkshire. I will remember about losing ‘the’ - it makes sense now I think about it.
I am tempted to give the rugby a goi must admit. It’s all Wakefield Trinity up here.
Thanks again.
