Got my tickets for tonight so looking forward to it
Anyone know how many tickets have been sold by Salop?
Not sure what to make of Lincoln - thought the wheels had come off the cart after the Messiahs had left them, especially after being done 6-0 at home by Oxford. However due respect to them for beating Sunderland last week.
It would be good to sneak the three points tonight with a late goal from Dave Edwards (if selected)
Anyone got thoughts on the lineup for tonight

Haven't been to Lincoln in years. The one and only time I went was when we were stood on one side of that open terrace that they used to have opposite the main stand. I guess that was around the early 90's. Can't recall the score.

I can remember standing on the terraces on the side at that game, where the big stand is now, which was somewhere around that time.

Just looked and we played them twice early 90's and both ended with a 1-0 win for us... 26 Sep 1992 Lincoln City v Shrewsbury Town W 0-1 League Division 3 04 Apr 1994 Lincoln City v Shrewsbury Town W 0-1 League Division 3 Can't for the life of me recall which one I was at... But I do recall it was a pretty nice day, so I'd edge my bets to the April game...

Anybody remember the 4 0 with Steve Leslie getting couple? Opening game 07/08 season I think? Great day out, beautiful sunny day if i remember right.
I also rememver listening to Stewart Dunn during a 5 1 away win at Sincil Bank in a night game in 2011 ish. Lionel Ainsworth hattrick.
Another result like those will do nicely please, Sam.

let us hope town are not too rusty after the break ,i felt sorry for lang it will be a blow to have him out. but it does give the rest of the players time to recover from injuries and for cummings to work on his fitness. i hope for a minimum of a point whilst a win would keep us in a mid table position. town need to just silence the home fans dont do anything stupid in the first 20 minutes and impose themselves on the game.
The Imps are favourites to take all three points and can be backed at 5/4 The draw is 11/5 while a Shrewsbury win is 21/10.

A certain Marc Pugh was in sensational form opening day on his debut back on that lovely day.

There is a score to be settled tonight, first time weve played since the Wembley final i think.
Is that carthorse still playing for them or has he gone to the knackersyard now?

Is that the one that Barham (i think) 'scored' with the most beatifull overhead kick only for the ref to disallow it for dangerous play?

That was a great afternoon out, nothing like starting the season with a crushing away win. Sadly I'm not up to driving to Lincoln these days, I hope they're still serving the pork barms for those who can go. I also have a memory of being at a night match we won with an Aiston solo goal, or am I dreaming?

Seem to remember Mark Stallard banging in a 35 yard volley during the 2005/6 preseason at Gay Meadow against a team in red and white. Was it Lincoln? Either way he joined them the following season.

I used to live in Timperley in the early 80’s and your right the locals insisted on it being in Cheshire despite it being in the Metropolitan Borough of Trafford in the ‘county’ of Greater Manchester....

Why are we playing away on a Friday night out of interest? Keep up! yesterday at 9:49am Quote like Post Options Post by ssshrew on yesterday at 9:49am northwestman Avatar yesterday at 9:30am northwestman said: jacksdad Avatar yesterday at 9:16am jacksdad said: Totally agree, it's a complete joke moving the game to Friday night. For anyone driving the traffic will be horrendous on a Friday afternoon, it's not the easiest of journeys at the best of times so it's likely to be 3 and half hours or so on Friday pm! Did our Club have any say in the scheduling of this, or can Lincoln do more or less whatever they like? The reason they've given for moving it seems a fairly weak one. I’ve investigated (just like you and Bury!!!). There was a short, sharp item on Shrewsweb just announcing it had been changed but there is an interview with BC on 4th July when it was addressed. Basicaly a lot of waffle about the fans not liking it but Lincoln did ask us and we agreed for footballing reasons as we have a midweek game the following week as well. And Lincoln isn’t that far compared to Southend or Gillingham!! Lincoln like to play on a Friday night apparently as well. ?gamesmanship - not for me to say. Some fans will like it and some won’t he said. Personally I just think blow it. I’m a loyal supporter home and away so I’ll just save the money. He did say another club had asked for a move - I didn’t catch who as he mumbled - but we turned it down. Read more: blueandamber.proboards.com/thread/99627/referee-lincoln-city-game#ixzz62jGQnByZ

The highlight of the day for me, was the queue for the Buff A was about 20 deep. There was only Juan woman serving, so she didn't have a cat in hell's chance. Then this bloke walked over. I thought he was going to help the poor lady, but instead he gave her a volley for not working fast enough!

England U20s played France U20 at the Meadow the following night... with Lacazette, Griezmann, Martial and Fofana playing for France.
