There was a time when Tranmere played most, if not all, of their home games on a Friday night to avoid clashes with Liverpool and Everton.

An interesting appointment. Josh Smith, who is from Bourne in Lincolnshire. A 26 year old first year referee with only one season officiating in the National League behind him. This will be his first League One game after officiating in six League Two games and two EFL Trophy games so far this season. He has shown 30 yellow cards and 1 red card in those games. I would argue that this could actually work in our favour he knows that eyes will be on him from up above and may think he needs to make the point that he is impartial and might actually give us a few 50/50s one can hope at least shame he gave the red card to prove my point the late penalty on whalley would have been better

Didn’t see any penalty on Whalley unless you mean the foul a foot outside the area (though similar position to the pen Kettle gave against us at Ipswich!).
Don’t know why the Lincoln fans were so incensed about the red card?
