Can anyone recommend any decent hotels in or within walking distance of the castle/market square please?
We would like to stop over on the way home from a mid week wedding in December so that we can visit the Ludlow Christmas market.
Thanks

We’ve stayed at The Townhouse and would again. I think the Charlton Arms is under the same management, it’s the other side of the river but an easy walk and has parking.

Dinham Hall Hotel is right next to the castle and is very nice. I like the Cliffe hotel too...a good 15 minute walk over Dinham bridge but with the best vistas of Ludlow Castle you will find.

Went on a lovely walk from Bromfield to Ludlow across country , came out by the Cliffe Hotel which I didn’t know existed. Didn’t go in as we were running late and I wanted to get to the Olive Branch in Ludlow but it like looked really good and well worth further investigation . I agree the view of the Castle from the Cliffe Hotel is second to none. Bit of a climb though after the bridge into town but if you are reasonably fit shouldn’t be a problem . Ludlow is a smashing place , I’m sure you will enjoy your visit .

Thanks all for the advice. Just over the river sounds good. I'll check them out.

The refurbished Feathers reopens most of it's rooms in November so may be worth a look, great central location and a lovely building.

I’ve ate and drank at the Charlton Arms but never stayed there, could imagine it’s a great place to stay at though with great views of the town from the banks of the river Teme.

Just back from a relaxing few days in Ludlow.
Stayed at the Cliffe at Dinham and we were not disappointed. We loved the location and they have a very good chef.
We would certainly return to this hotel again in the future (sorry, I'm sounding like a TripAdvisor review!!!)

We stayed there the weekend before you by the sounds of it and thoroughly enjoyed it. As you say a great chef plus comfortable, warm rooms. We were in a room in the little cottage at the back - it was all they had available but it suited us down to the ground as we were visiting different friends all of the time so could come and go as we pleased.
