Scotland RFU considering legal action if their crunch game gets cancelled. i hope they dont really dont wont rugby going down this route Indeed, let us hope that it doesn't come to that. At the same time, Italy would also be thinking, what about us? They had an outside chance of qualifying for the quarter finals, although they would have had to beat the all blacks to do so. Irrelevant now of course as their game was cancelled.

It is a difficult situation. Everyone knew the rules before the tournament started, it's not as if World rugby has suddenly concocted this solution to games being affected by adverse weather. However, a common sense solution would be to move the game back by 24 hours. Having cancelled the Italy/ABs and England/France games they will have to treat this one the same so the common sense solution is a non-starter. Hopefully the game will go ahead as planned and then Japan can knock Scotland out fairly

Seems the bad weather will have passed and Sunday will be OK weather wise just depends if any damage is done on Saturday that would prevent the game being played. I'll be cheering on the home team and it should be a great game.

You'll be ahead of everyone else with your insider knowledge 😊 We are presently starting to get the effect of the outer edge, rain and getting a bit windy. The rain is predicted to become very heavy around 03:00 and last all day tomorrow. It should stop around midnight tomorrow night, so they'll have decent weather most of the day on Sunday to sort things out for the big game on Sunday evening. On a personal note, I have been going around the outside of my house and garden stowing anything that might get taken by the wind. My wife, a worrier, has panic bought lots of water, bread, milk etc (as has everyone else judging by the empty shelves at the supermarket this afternoon!). Things could be interesting tomorrow...

I hope the Japan/Scotland game can go ahead, but at the end of the day, it's a rugby match. I'm more concerned about the safety of the general population.

Did that include the nice black coffee? That was quite disgusting. She better not buy me any of that again. Getting interesting here now. Rivers are all getting swollen, rain is torrential, starting to get some house shaking gusts of wind. My mobile is going off with severe weather alerts like crazy, and my whole city except the area where I live (lucky!) has been put on evacuation standby. Expected to peak this evening and should be gone by around midnight. Tomorrow hot and sunny all day so Scotland game should be fine.

Insane amounts of driving rain here. My house wall is leaking a bit as the rain is getting blown almost horizontally into the balcony and streaming down the wall and seeping through where there is a join between the ground floor and first floor. We had a small earthquake just to keep us on our toes as well 😂 Nature hates us!

A bloody stressful day, but we made it through unscathed (though I appreciate I am one of the lucky ones - some people killed, some people's homes flooded, many evacuated and many enduring power cuts). Storm has passed and all is calm. Very much looking forward to the big game tomorrow. Come on Japan!

Hopefully the game will go ahead tomorrow.

Namibia v Canada has been called off. Looking at pictures on twitter there is a lot of flooding around the area the Scottish game is. Game could go ahead but in an empty stadium possibly.

Kamaishi is in Tohoku, in the north, where the typhoon is now. Hence the cancellation of the Canada game. They say they are "optimistic" the Scotland game (and the others) will go ahead. As is usual after a typhoon, it's an absolutely belting day here - not a cloud in the crystal blue sky and warm/hot.

What a refreshing change from Japan, running with the ball instead of aimless kicking which seems to have crept into the game. Japan well worth their lead.

What a half of rugby by Japan. The pace they play at and handling/passing so far has been brilliant. Complete contrast to the earlier Welsh game. My sympathy goes out to the Scots fan who posted earlier as there looks to be only one winner at the minute.

Well Scotland need 22 more points at the moment to go through in the group, and that’s if Japan don’t score another point which I severely doubt! Looks like a tall order for Scotland to progress.
