Does anyone know who looks after the letting, etc. for the council owned shopping centre? I ask because I read this:
The company (New River Retail) said that was the third mandate for its third-party asset management platform within a year of its launch, adding that discussions were ongoing with a number of local authority owners of retail assets to expand the platform further.
I assume the council do have some sort of expertise in place to do the lettings and day to day management?

BWD do the lettings as far as I'm aware if that helps.

Faulty electrics outside Hotel Chocolat I believe. It was shut Friday due to a power cut and then open Saturday morning but the big hole had appeared.

The footfall on Pride Hill looked decent the other day and not too many empty shops. But from there down to the station is a bit down, maybe the council should do something down there, free "herring bone" pattern parking by the castle would be nice.
Also seem to remember seeing a sign that the road and railway station would be closed on the 18th, forgot to look more closely on the way back, what was going on there?

There were articles in the Star/Chronicle recently about targeting the area by the station onwards for improvements. It looks very run down at the moment although a number of the shops are under offer so hopefully will see improvements soon. The old computer shop on the corner by the station which has been empty for about 20 years (or so it seems) is under offer and was told it's becoming a craft ale/tap house sort of place so that will be a good start.
