Iconic and long time favourite shirt of Town fans, really? If a vote was carried out amongst Town fans I'd be very surprised if the Umbro shirt of 77/78 didn't win. Now that is an iconic shirt. Hello “callum”, if that even is your real name. I’d have though it’d be “Callum” myself. You do realise that “ long time favourite” doesn’t mean “THE all time favourite and undisputed most popular”? Sam Aiston is a long time favourite. Victor Kasule is a long time favourite. Dean Spink is a long time favourite. Agree? PS what was the meaning of that private message you sent me “If I’d wanted to hear an @rsehole speak then I’d have farted”. Isn’t that a bit nasty? Apologies for not using a capital 'C'! an honest mistake probably like you leaving a 't' off thought. Glass houses etc! Yes I realise it doesn't mean all time favourite but I can honestly say i have never heard anyone say this shirt is a long time favourite of mine. Why on earth would I private message you? If I have anything to say i will put it on the board for all to see.

As far as non-blue-and-amber shirts go, I have a thing for the 1997-1999 Patrick home. A nice shade of blue, a proper badge, and some great memories of the Meadow, even if Town weren't exactly flying high. Would love a new run of these.

Funny enough, I was thinking about the Patrick shirts too - but perhaps the amber striped 00-01 one instead - I'd LOVE to see this as a retro kit. Only pics I can find are via Getty Images (including one of John Keister in what must be the most ill-fitting kit a player has ever worn?!?)

I've still got that one somewhere from the first time around, a quality design that.

Crickey ... but can anyone help out with clues about Keister's Town career?
Memory shot on him!

I have know idea? Was that what happened with Keister? Obviously fans' contributions ommited the cost of knitting Keister out?
Maybe this could be the solution to the current lack of a 'striker' situation?
Do start a thread ProudSalopian if you remember that episode!

I recall that ProudSalopian is correct. Was this something that occurred at the time of the Independent Supporters Club. Ade Plimmer would know more I think.

I once had the white away shirt from the same time that was Tony Lormer's and it was the size of a duvet cover.

Yeah it was the ISC and from memory there was a plea for donations to cover the cost of new signings wages. However I might have got my wires crossed as doing a bit of googling and found other older threads on here which suggested it was Spencer Whelen. But there definitely was a player that the fans paid for, a reminder as to how far we have come.
And either way, both players turned out to be terrible signings

I was Secretary of the ISC, and yes we used money raised to fund Keister's contract. Had a lot of fun with the ISC, it was a couple of exciting years at a time when the club was struggling. Met some great people, many of whom are still heavily involved with the club in other supporters groups.

A sad sign of the times that this post was put here two weeks ago and had garnered no likes, in spite of this board being littered by serial likers who will profess their undying love for witless jokes and soul destroying puns.

Any idea why only option seams to be have it delivered and then £4.99 is added to the price making the shirt £54.98 ?

Admiral missed a trick not releasing a retro looking shirt this season. They released some iconic kits in the 80’s and I was expecting (and hoping) something similar.
Be interesting to see how the ‘extremely high’ interest in the shirt compares to the current kit sales. I’m going with SPALL personally but would have lapped up a similar kit with an Admiral logo, some loggerheads and not yellow.

I know its not amber but even so, it really does look good that. Well done the club for getting it sorted.

I really like the return of the classic shirts but please can we see the 2006/2007 shirt next for fans? Classic loggerheads and really an iconic season. Any chance the supporters parliament can look into it? Wish they’d done this. Probably the best ever.
