Would normally be all over this fixture but with the sorry state of affairs on the pitch I can’t be bothered. Will be listening in & while of course will be hoping for an away win, I’m expecting a one or two nil defeat & the managers head Wednesday morning. I’m sorry, but it really is that bad! Wake up! yeah and a new manager will arrive and miraculously a wad of cash will appear and he will pop out and buy that proven league 1 prolific goalscorer who has been waiting by his phone for weeks for it to ring, he will be straight in the side Saturday and score 4 maybe wake up yourself and realise who we are ,what we are, and what to expect try to think positive about tonight the players know they could have had 9 points so far this season but only have 4 they know there is completion for places, and they know a new face could arrive any day im sure they will work hard tonight and get what they deserve which is hopefully 3 points I predict an early goal for us and 2-0 up by halt time with Morison opening his account I'll be there anyway

Respect people having their opinions but I’m amazed anyone within our fan base genuinely thinks it’s that bad at the moment. I certainly think we need a little more upfront but other then that it’s a good squad. Defence is solid, Giles looks brilliant, Whalley continues to cause problems. I was impressed with Goss and once Norburns back the central midfield looks decent too, all we need is a little more goal threat upfront and were solid in my opinion, much better then some of the tat we’ve seen in be last few seasons.

Respect the right to an opinion but this is nonsense. I'm quite critical or the club, and was critical or Ricketts at points last year, but credit where it's due i think he's shifted plenty of dead wood and build a good side with a formation and clear set of tactics in mind.
It's obvious we need a striker, but it's again obvious one will come in, the number 9 is still free.
We've got a better keeper, back three look good, Giles looks a cracking addition and we've added experience in the midfield along with plenty of competition. We're a striker short, as well as our record signing returning from injury.

To be fair the defence compared to last season is 1000% better, would be good tho to see a half decent striker in with Norburn coming back soon as well.

To be fair we dont necessarily need to find a proven league one striker - Fey is that and Morrison is a "proven" Championship Striker.
What we need is to figure out how the hell to get them working in this formation Ricketts seems wedded to.
For me we need a Carlton Morris type. Still not prolific but with more legs and Morrison and with Fey could do business. Its not a move we look like we can afford to get wrong!

There are some excellent points being made on this thread coupled with a fair dollop of realism . In my humble opinion we are looking a more complete side than last year with good players . We seem to be more of a unit , everyone working hard . If I remember Stanley looked a very good side last season and played us off the park until their keeper got himself sent off for a stupid challenge. It turned the game in our favour . A point tonight would be very good . I’m looking forward to the rest of this season , SR has done well in recruiting some good players. A top 10 finish would be brilliant .

Top half is progress. 10th and above, put a run together, flirt with the play-offs, thats a very good season. I don't think we're a million miles away if one of the strikers can get near 20 and people around him can chip in well like Docherty did last year.
Wishful thinking, but if we got Docherty back and signed a decent striker i think we'd have a chance of sneaking the last play-off spot.

Next couple of games are important to how the season goes. Neither Accrington or Burton have started brilliantly and like us aren't scoring too many goals, so if we can keep a clean sheet and nick a goal we could end the month with 7-10 points which would be a great return after so many changes in the summer.
Big worry remains where the goals will come from though as the front two just aren't firing and going another game without a goal won't help get people through the gate on Saturday. I'm also a bit concerned how we would go about chasing a game if we go behind.

I would love to see Omar get the winner tonight, he has had some fair and unfair comments on this forum from various people, he supports mental health which is some thing which has effected me and as a person he is a top bloke. He may surprise a few people this year and start to believe in him self and be the player he can be.

It’s clear we need something else up top but that’s never been easy to sort out. From what I saw of Goss’ delivery at the the weekend we will be a huge threat from set pieces.

Whatever he does on the pitch and however others may criticise him, Beckles is one of my favourite players. That's not to say I'd necessarily always have him in the team, but I do happen to think he's a good player for us, despite the occasional error - and who doesn't have those? We have 4 good centre backs.

The fact is our two "natural " forwards don't work that hard, so they need service. Either 442 with Whalley and Ryan as wingers or one of the 3 centre mids gets an understanding with Ok for some through balls. Or buy another forward !!

0-2. Whalley from the spot and a Morrison header, after which B&A will be flooded with comments speculating a playoff chasing season, only to be turned into ‘Ricketts out’ comments the next time we don’t win a game.

Do we know who our penalty takers are this season with the new arrivals?

Interesting that there are no changes. This week is going to be the proof of the pudding for some of our older players: can they play three games in a week.

Do we know who our penalty takers are this season with the new arrivals? Fey took the penalty in the Dundee Utd friendly other than that we'll have to see I guess.

In a good mood as I have booked my ticket for Wimbledon next month. So I am predicting 0-1 tonight. Super-sub Okenabirhie with a goal line tap in on 89 mins.

Not sure if he was a PK for previous clubs? Not sure if this is accurate, but it has him down as taking 12 and scoring 7 of those over his full career. www.transfermarkt.co.uk/steve-morison/elfmetertore/spieler/104725

If Ro-Shaun is out for a few weeks then Beckles may get his longest run at centre back since he's been here.
I rate Williams Ebanks-Lenell and Pierre much more highly than Nsiala even, but Beckles is a capable defender and with better players beside him and behind him we may yet see the best of him.
